Pierre felt something brush against his hip, feather-light and almost unnoticeable– but he had been trained as a soldier, almost nothing went unnoticed to him. He turned his head just in time to see a woman slip away….. a woman clutching the same bag of coins that had been in his pocket a moment ago. The pocket that was now empty. First the redcoat and now this?? He slipped off the bar stool, approaching her quickly and laying a heavy hand on her shoulder. "Excuse me, miss. I believe that you are making off with my money?"

André glanced briefly at Pierre while he awaited Jane's response.
"Well, if it's your money, then why do I have it?" She asked snarkily, turning to face him. She straightened her back, reaching her full height, though still a bit shorter. Curse my shortness and curse him actually paying attention, damnit.
Pierre clenched his jaw, anger rising in him. "Have some respect from the man you just stole from," he told her through gritted teeth, keeping his voice low. A scene was the last thing he needed right now. "Just give it back, and I won't make it a problem."

Annalise blinked, before very calmly sprinting away. He said that like I wouldn't cause a problem. She thought, smirking to herself. This isn't the first time someone's noticed, my good sir, and it wasn't my first theft
John lifted his head a little, squinting, "Hold that thought, Jane.." He spoke, taking interest in the small drama.
"Hey!" he yelled, immediately taking off after her. I worked hard for those coins– I'd like to see her try and take them. He was clearly the faster of the two, and caught up with her before she was barely out of the door, grabbing hold of her wrist and yanking her back. "Thief!"
"My, what an honest observation." She said dryly, stopping on his foot and attempting to run again. We all need to eat sir. You're lucky you can work for your coins.
"Hey, what's going on?!" John stood up to confront the both of them. And feeling a little senselessly valliant off whiskey.
Pierre didn’t even cast the redcoat a glance, jumping forward to grab hold of the woman’s arm again. “Give those back!”
"Nothing of your concern." Annalise said calmly. "Now if you'd excuse me, I have brothers to meet."
"Hey–" he grunted, lurched forward to seize both of their arms and hold them seperate. "What is going on?" He repeated.
Once again, Pierre ignored the Brit, snatching the sack of coins from the woman’s hand. Their scuffle has turned heads, which was enough to cause him concern.
Frustrated at being dismissed, now he made a grab for the coins, teeth grit. To just force them to listen.
Pierre yanked his hand out of the way, now unable to contain his anger. “Both of you, keep your filthy hands off of my money,” he growled, stepping backwards.
"Say that to my face." André exhaled. "Im trying to help."
Pierre took a deep breath, shoving the money back into his pocket. Calm down, you idiot. “Thank you, sir, for your help.”
Annalise slipped away grinning. Wonder when he'll notice that I took a few out of the bag? I'm not an idiot, after all.
((I actually googled pick pocketing methods, and that's a thing. It just requires some slight of hand and distraction- like running.))
