"Unfortunately, yes, it's irreversible. Once your soul is sold, that's it."
Her facial features tensed as she considered his offer. It was very enticing. Slowly, she relaxed and nodded. "Alright…" She raised her eyes to look firmly into his. "I want freedom."
"Freedom from what?" He asked, feeling that familiar tangle of guilt reform in his gut.

"My superiors," she murmured.
"Superiors?" He asked, tilting his head, some shaggy black hair falling in his face.

Her heart began to race, and his question was only the half of it. She blinked and looked away so she wasn't staring blatantly as his face. "Yes," she replied, not adding more.
Axton gave a slight nod, holding out his hand. "Guess we have a deal then, girlie." He said, trying to ignore the sick feeling in his stomach.

"Yep!" she chirped, almost sounding excited. Without hesitation, she placed her hand in his.
Axton gently shook it, caught off guard by the weird feeling. My normal deals don't feel like this. What's happening? Why does her hand sting me?

The second her skin touched his, Trinity felt different. Her vision began to blur, and her throat suddenly felt thick. "I think," she mumbled, "it's working?" Her body began to sway side to side, and though it hurt, her grip on his hand tightened. It was the only solid thing in her world now.
Axton froze up for a moment, the sting turning into a more burning sensation when she tightened her grip that made him hiss sharply. "This-this isn't how it normally goes!"

Suddenly, her eyes rolled back into her head, and she fell limply against his chest.
Axton caught her, mind going blank. This wasn't supposed to happen, and it's never happened before. What was he supposed to do? "Hello? Can somebody call an ambulance?!"

Everything around her was light. She was surrounded by so much light, it was blinding. She squinted in a vain effort to see, but the brightness was so strong. "Hello?" she called into the void. Finally, she gave up and closed her eyes. The second she did, however, the light flicked off. Now, when she opened her eyes, she was surrounded by darkness. "Hello?!" she cried out, much more terrified of the unending darkness than the unending light. "Hello?! Somebody help me! Please!"
With that, Trinity jolted awake with a start, feeling different. The first thing she noticed was a pair of strong arms around her.
"What the hell did you take before this, girlie?" Axton asked, a panicked edge to his voice. This isn't how it goes. What the fuck?

"Take?" she asked, slightly disoriented. "I didn't take anything…"
"Then why the hell did you pass out?"

"I-I don't know," she stammered. "Your hand was burning me."
"Your hand was burning mine!"

Her mouth fell slightly agape. "We… burned each other? How is that even possible?"
"I don't know, but it's not supposed to happen!"

Wait, I'm an angel. The only beings that can burn me are… Trinity's eyes widened quickly, and she took a step back away from him. However, she forgot that he was still holding her from when she'd fallen unconscious, so her small backwards step did very little.
"What?" Axton asked, taking the hint and dropping his arms from where they were around her. "The hell happened, girlie?"

Once he released her, she backed away quickly. It all made sense now… the burning hand… selling her soul…
"You're a demon," she accused, pointing viciously at him.
"…Girlie, you're just figuring this out?" He asked, blinking. "I was literally offering for you to sell your soul."

She frowned. "And I didn't think you were serious!"
"Why would I be joking about that?!"

"I don't know! Humans are stupid!"
"Why are you saying that like you aren't human?!"

All emotion dropped off her face. "I-I'm not… What?"
