"Oh, it's fine. I don't mind." Lin yawned a bit and stretched. "It's not worth bothering them for anyway." It seemed like everything he owned fit into one backpack, so it didn't take him very long to unpack. As of right now, however, he had no way to pay off his student loans and it worried him. He doubted his family would be willing to help, after all.

"If you say so. You finished so quickly." Noah sighed and looked at his bed still not know what to do with it. "Maybe I should start with my clothes…" He mumbled. "Do you mind helping me?" He pointed to the stuff in the corner of the room. "Oh course, if it's too much you don't have to!" Noah flailed his arms.
"I'm fine to help you! What do you need me to do?" Lin asked. It wasn't like he really had much to do at the moment anyway. Classes hadn't started yet and he'd unpacked his small backpack of belongings within a few minutes of arriving.
"Just move in some of the more bigger boxes. I'm pretty small so lifting isn't my strong suit. You look like you could do that." Noah grabbed the small box and started to unpack what he had brought. Things like extension cords and chargers came out of the box. He also took his hangers and placed them into the closet. He never unpacked in an organized way he would just take out whatever he saw and placed it where he desired it to be. The next box was his sheets. He placed them on his bed neatly and placed the extra sheet and the bottom of the closet. "If would like you can take out the snacks and stuff and place them somewhere. Their for both of us anyway. Once were done how about I show you around?"
"Yeah, sure. No problem!" Lin headed outside and stacked two of the large boxes so he could carry them in simultaneously. Although they were pretty heavy, he didn't seem to have any trouble with it. He was obviously stronger than his thin frame would imply. "It would definitely be good to get a tour from someone who actually knows their way around… I'm not great with directions." He laughed softly as he set the boxes down. "At least not in new places."
"How did you just-" he cut himself off as he watched him carry the boxes. "I really am weak aren't I?" Noah trudged to the next box taking out his clothes and putting some on hangers and others in drawers. He took out the rest of his packing including pictures of his friends from freshman year. Then doing stupid things and fun things. "Good memories." He hung them up on the wall and admired them for a little before getting back to work. He had took out his laptop placing on the his desk and other things that belong on there as well. "What do you want to do with these desk? They're pushed together. Do want them like that or should we move them? By we i mean you. I probably couldn't do much to help."
"Hm?" Lin looked up when Noah started asking something, but shrugged it off when he didn't finish. He glanced up again when his roommate asked another question. "I don't mind them the way they are, but I'm happy to move them if you'd rather them not be so close together." He offered. "I'm really not too picky. I'm just glad to have a place to sleep."
"I don't mind I was just wondering. Once more box and then we could take that tour." Noah unpacked the last box which happened to be all the stuff he needed for hygiene. "What do you mean when you say at least had a bed to sleep in? Should I be worried or was that a joke?" Noah gave a little chuckle as he leaned against his bed.
"Uh…" Lin considered how much he should tell Noah as he carried in the last box. Well, I'm gonna be living with him for a while, so I might as well tell him. "I was homeless for a while. Ran away from home when I was thirteen." He said after a moment of hesitation. "It wasn't so bad, though. I built myself a little tree fort and lived there a while until I found an abandoned barn to stay in instead."
Noah smiled at his response. "At least I know you can handle yourself if you we ever get lost in the woods. Alright ready for the tour?" Noah gave a light smile. He grabbed the key on the desk and opened the door. "After you." He pointed through the door like a doorman at a hotel opening the doors.
"Yeah, I'm ready." Lin smiled gently as well, glad that Noah didn't seem to see him any differently for having been homeless. Especially since it was his own doing from running away. He was also glad that he didn't ask any further questions for the time being. "Where are we going first?"
"First we'll be visiting the library then we'll take a look at your classes and see the fastest root to each of them. Since you're a freshman you'll be staying in the library a lot. Don't worry I can help you out I probably took some of you classes." He lead him out of the hallway occasionally waving to people he new and bow his head just slightly at them. "I have a question I would like to ask you as well." He pushed up his glasses and slightly bowed at people he knew.
Lin nodded a bit as Noah spoke, politely bowing his head to whomever Noah did since he assumed that's what he was supposed to do. He looked up when the other boy said he had a question, his heartrate picking up a bit. "Yeah, sure. What is it?" He asked.
"How did you get in a school like this? Since your…" They walked across campus for a while before he opened another door. "If that came out rude I sincerely apologize. Of course, if you don't have to answer that's fine with me too." He escorts him through the carpet hallway and they soon reached the library. He didn't go in just yet because he was curious about his answer.
"It's alright! Don't feel bad." Lin smiled weakly. "I did well in high school. My grades were good enough to get me a couple scholarships. I'm gonna have a lot of loans to pay off either way, so that's going to suck, but… I'm glad to be here anyway."
"That's good, not that fact that you're in debt but, good that you can go to college. I can introduce you to my friends sometime. Anyway…" He trailed off and opened the doors to the library. He start to speak in a soft and quiet voice because the library was very strict about. "This is where you can go to study or do research on a topic. Of course, if you need my help you can just ask me. There a lot of sitting areas the only time this place is filled up is during midterms, quarterlies, finals, and tests. So you don't have to worry about finding a spot for a while. Did you remember your way here? Do you have any question for me so far as well? They can be anything."
Lin nodded a bit as he followed along beside Noah, toying with his sleeves. He listened closely, and nodded at the first question. "Yeah, I remember how to get here. And I don't think I've got any questions yet… I figured the whole 'get to know you' thing could happen when we get back to our dorm." He laughed softly. "I mean, unless you wanted to do it now."
"Okay perfect." He lead him out of the library. "Show me what class you have so I can show you the quickest route to each of them." He rubbed his eyes under his glasses. He ended up taking off his glass so he could clean them with his shirt. He kept squinting and cleaning until they were spotless. "Perfect."
Lin passed his schedule off to Noah so that the other boy could see the classes he had. "A lot of the numbers are pretty close together, so I think at least some of them are near each other… I've got them on different days anyway, though."
Noah took his scheduled and analyzed it. He though of ways to get there. "One of you classes is right by one of my favorite fast food places." We'll head their last so I can get something to eat. So you're fast class is actually in this building so we'll go to that one first." He walked down the hallway, looking back to see if Lin was fallowing him. He was. He had more questions he wanted to ask about what happened in his past, but he felt like it wasn't right to ask. "Have you ever met anyone who you like of your childhood journey?"
Lin followed Noah closely, not wanting to be left behind. He nodded along as he spoke, showing that he was listening. He glanced up at the question, seeming a bit confused. "Hmm? What do you mean?" He asked curiously. Met anyone? Not really, but… I'm not entirely sure what he's trying to ask…
"I just mean up has their been anyone that you liked more than just a friend in your life. Not now because like you just got here, but was there anyone life that. Someone who cared for you or were you alone?" His voice got subtle after a few words. He wasn't sure how to ask if he had a girlfriend at all. Noah took himself out of his thoughts and perked up his ears so he could here his answer.
"Oh! Um… no, not really." Lin laughed nervously. "I was only ever with my family during my childhood, and I was alone from age thirteen until now. I never exactly had the opportunity. I think one of my older brothers might be dating someone, though. But it's been a while since I talked to him, so I could be wrong…"
"I see…" He walked up to his class and gave a light sigh. "Here it is it's pretty much this just like 6 or 7 times a day. I only have 5 classes even though I'm going into the doctor profession. So if you look at the look it will say the building number and the floor next to it. Also what class. He just call this the library building it's easier to remember because this is only building that has a library so big. You actually have a few classes in here you just fallow the floor pattern and you'll get there. The next building is actually right across from here. That where I have most of my classes." He lead him outside and a building was there almost bigger than the dorms is the dorms were tall. "Pretty big building huh."
Lin nodded a bit as he listened, wondering whether or not he should be taking notes to remember all of this new information. "Right, um… that all makes sense. What else do I need to know?" He asked curiously, wanting to make sure that he knew everything that he might need to.
"You only have one class in here so you won't be in as much. We may cross paths. The last building is a little farther down. You're luck cause your classes are all right next to each other. Last year I had to travel from one side to the other. It's a good workout though. The gift shop is also near where you are-" Noah's phone started to ring which cut him off. "Give me a second." Noah picked up the phone. "Hey, whats up." He paused for a minute and placed his hand on his hip. "Showing a freshman around…..not like that…..I don't know, why would I ask him that, you're such a jerk I swear…..I'm rooming with him….I don't know….sure I'll ask him, where are you anyway…..yeah okay…..classes haven't started yet so I guess it's fine…..I'm gonna kill you when see you." He hung up the phone and went back to walking.
"Yeah, I guess I am lucky." He laughed softly. "I'll just have to exercise on my own time so I don't get out of shape." He fell quiet when Noah took the call, not wanting to interrupt. He seemed a bit confused and curious about the side of the conversation he was hearing, though. "Who was that?" He asked curiously after Noah hung up. "What did he want you to ask me?"
Noah went back into his happy voice. "That was just my idiot friend. He wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with us tonight. We're all going to his apartment and hanging out. I told it was fine for me since I have nothing better to do. He also wants me to meet up with the rest of my friends including you. What about you?" Noah kept walking, placing his phone in his pocket. He turned the corner into the next building.
"Oh! Yeah, that's fine with me!" Lin replied, obviously a bit taken aback. He'd never exactly had friends to hang out with before, after all. He didn't know how to interact with groups of people other than his family all that well. "I guess I could just follow you since I don't know how to get there, obviously."
"Perfect." Noah walked Lin into the next building. This is what we call the sports building. Kind of like where all the sport kids go to hang out and do whatever. His group of friends were hanging out at the end of the hallway. He waved to them and they waved back.
"Noah!" A guy next to him almost tackled him if he didn't have perfect balance.
"Ethan, you know what I'm going to say right?" Noah looked annoyed.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, I'll get off you now. So?" Ethan looked at Lin, looking at him up and down. "This is the freshman you were talking about. Hey do you know if you're gay yet?" He asked.
"Ethan!" Noah hit him hard on the head. "Sorry about him."
