(Yeah)
(When to?)
(Im not sure, maybe Sterling could start up the scene, exiting his house and going to Harlow's or they could text, or Sterling could see Lemonade through the window or in the backyard, the next day or on the weekend. Harlow is probs at work, he could go in to get coffee she could take his order? Idk)
(I like the coffee shop idea!)
Sterling sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he stepped into the coffee shop. He was desperate for a quick pick-me-up. He'd been unpacking late into the night, and he had gotten up early out of habit.
Harlow was rushing to make a Hot England Chai tea, praying to God she wouldn't mess it up, again. Her hair was a mess and Harlow had flour on her face from getting to the shop early to make doughnuts and tarts. "Clair?" Harlow called out, looking for the tall brunette that had previously yelled in her face for screwing up her order. Harlow spotted Clair in the far corner chatting on the phone with she assumed was a friend. Harlow made her way over to the table and set down the cup, dusting her hands off on her baby pink apron. The owner of the shop made all the employees wear them, she hated how bright and happy they looked.
"It's hot, be careful. Enjoy." Harlow warned and then gave the evil looking, bimbo, a smile she didn't deserve. Today is going to be a long day, Harlow thought as she made her way back around the counter.
(Harlow’s got sass. Lol.)
Sterling stepped up in the line, finally reaching the counter. When he looked up to order his drink, he froze for a moment before grinning.
“Harlow! Hey! I didn’t realize that you worked here,” he said.
Harlow was pouring a gentleman another coffee when she heard her name come from a familiar voice. She smiled and looked up at Sterling. "Oh hey! Yeah, it seemed like a great place to make a quick buck at the time but then I kind of never left." Harlow laughed at how stupid she sounded, He doesn't care, she thought.
"That's cool. I'm sure you enjoy the free coffee you must get," Sterling chuckled.
"Always." Harlow smiled, glad for the distraction. "What can I get you?"
Sterling sighed and glanced up at the menu. "Well, I don't know… What do you suggest?"
"Well, I usually order a sparkling tea, but that doesn't seem like something you'd drink. How about a Café con leche, or a just a regular Americano or a Macchiato?" Harlow pointed to the less than detailed board above her. They really need to fix this place up., she thought while sighing at the sight of it.
"Hm… You know what? Surprise me," Sterling chuckled. "I'll pay for whatever it is."
"Alright," Harlow said with a sly smile, "I will." Harlow turned her back to Sterling and faced the espresso machine, locking the cup in place before starting it up.
Sterling chuckled and waited for the drink to be done. She was cute, he'd give her that. Especially when she had that sly smile; it made her look like she was up to something.
Harlow turned back to Sterling with a hot cup of coffee, "Voila! One Café con leche, spiced with our amazing vanilla cream and sugar salt." Harlow beamed at her work, she hasn't made anything this delicious looking for a while, everyone always seems to order the same old boring specials. Harlow was glad and happy she could let out some of her creativity.
"It sounds amazing. How much do I owe you, then?" Sterling asked, pulling out his wallet.
"Don't worry about it," Harlow waved a hand at him. "It's on the house, plus it's not like we don't have enough prissy rich kids walking in our doors." Harlow sighed at the sad truth that one day one of those kids might actually buy the place out.
Sterling laughed and shook his head with a grin. "Gosh, I forgot you had so much fire…"
Harlow gave a little laugh before asking, "So, do you have plans now that you're back in town?"
"Oh, not really," Sterling sighed, shrugging a bit. Just getting a job, finishing my degree…" Maybe finding a beautiful girl to date…
Harlow began ringing up another order, this time from a gentleman who seemed to be from a private school considering his clean-cut uniform of maroon and white. "Ah, and hows that coming along, your degree?"
"It's coming along pretty well, actually. Thanks for asking," Sterling said with a smile as he took a sip of his drink. He nodded slowly, taking another. "This is good!"
"I'm glad you like it." Harlow gave a smile before starting up the espresso machine again. "I got to get back to work, but if you want to catch up later that would be great."
Sterling grinned and nodded. "Sure, that sounds great. Do you want to come to my place? I can order pizza."
Harlow quickly ran through her mental calendar before replying, "Uh, yeah that would be fine. I get off at 6, but I have to do a few things first. How's 7:30?"
Sterling nodded, grinning. "Sounds great! Do you like pop? I could grab a bottle when I get the pizza."
"Soda." Harlow corrected with a stupid grin across her face, remembering he hates being corrected or challenged. "Yeah, remember my favorite?"
(Make up a fave soda XD I was thinking something cherry but Idk…)
Sterling chuckled and shook his head in amusement. “Pop… It’s Cherry Cola, right?”
"Soda." Harlow nodded and smiled again before walking off, leaving him without a chance to counter. Deep down Harlow knew he would get her back somehow or way. Harlow then began ringing in orders.
(Skip to 7:30 after you react to this scene?)
