(Gotta use this one ;-;)
When Runner woke up, the first thing he felt was water all over his skin. The hell? he thought, opening his eyes and realizing, Fuck, I'm underwater! He panicked, spinning around as he looked for the light. He saw a shimmer of red, and began swimming rapidly, feeling the air escape his lungs with every motion. Eventually, his head broke the water and he felt the cold night air on his skin. "What the fuck!" he said aloud looking around. The water was empty, except for the burning wreckage of a large shipping container floating a good 1000 yards away from him. Then, suddenly, BOOM!, an explosion on the main deck, then it slowly began to sink. He looked around some more, thinking he heard the sound of oars in the water…
"My pan!" he suddenly realized. The damn thing must be 100s of feet deep in the water.

(eh, it works. Just a sec, got the munchies)

(him and his pan, it's like a love story in of itself)

Tessa soared above the ocean, admiring her masterpiece. There had been so many explosives on that ship, it was almost too easy. It helped that there was no one besides the captain on that ship. But as she banked and the wind turned a certain way, she spotted a boy flailing in the water and shouting. Shit, she cursed silently. She had thought no one was on board–the documents hadn't said anything about ship-hands or passengers. Maybe he was a stowaway? She stopped and hovered above, neither close nor far away from him.

"God damnnit," he grumbled, looking down at the water as if he'd be able to swim down and grab it. He was not dressed in a manner suitable for sea traveling. A black hoodie with the word Clemson printed across it in orange, bold print, a pair of jeans, and no shoes on. Hell, he'd be sinking like a rock with such heavy clothing on if it wasn't for his layer of chub. No, he wasn't fat…..but he definitely wasn't skinny, either.

Tessa sighed and swooped lower, pulling up her eerie face mask that covered the lower half of her face and doubled as a gas mask. It didn't exactly look it, but that's what its secondary function was. The rest of her clothing wasn't very pleasant looking either–dark tank top, cargo pants with their pockets holding at least some sort of flammable or explosive item, a belt with daggers and even a gun strapped to it, and a black, slightly bloodstained coat (also armed to the teeth inside the hidden pockets). Her golden, scaled wings disturbed the water below her, her reptilian and spiked tail jerking back and forth. Dark, spiraling horns jutted up from the top of her golden hair.

His head snapped towards the direction Tessa was coming from, staring at her with eyes that seemed to glow in the low light. Now, a typical reaction from any sane being would be to panic and start doggy paddling as fast as he could away from what only could be a demon, but when was Runner ever normal. His face was the embodiment of calm, even in such a stressful situation.
Getting…..fire, he thought. War. Probably a demi-god. But…with something else. Ancient and primordial.
"Dragon," he said, loud enough for her to hear it. "Can't be anything else."

group

She cocked her head to the side, beating her wings to keep her above the water. "Good guess, little boy." Her voice was altered thanks to the mask. "Now riddle me this: What were you doing on that ship?"

"I was on that ship?" he asked, tilting his head like a confused dog. "I didn't know."
It made sense, however. The only logical reason why he would be out here.
"You're a demi-god right?"

group

She looked around, searching for any possible explanation for the strange guy in front of her. She didn't answer him, either. The less he knew for certain, the better.

Well, the fact that he had even guessed correctly was a little disconcerting…

"Someone weird, though." He seemed to lick his lips with a frown, as if he had just eaten something odd. "A tangy flavor I've never tasted before. Not Greek, for sure. Nor Roman or Norse."
Runner became consumed in his own thoughts, completely ignoring the flying dragon demi-god in front of him like it was a normal thing for him.

group

"Okay, you're creeping me out, dude." She turned back to him, her wings flapping and tail splashing the water irritably. "Give me one reason to not leave you here to drown." She didn't know how to feel about this guy. Very rarely did someone correctly guess that she was a demigod. And to automatically realize that she wasn't a normal demigod…
Somethings fishy. And it's not the ocean.

He shrugged. "Never really asked for help, per say, but…..hm." He put a hand to his chin in thought. He was drawing blanks with reasons, so he just responded with: "Yes," as if it was the answer to Life, the Universe, and everything.

group

She gave him a funny look, her brows scrunching together and lips twisting in confusion beneath the mask. No one had ever said that to her in response to her life or death offers. It was… weird. But it was a reason nevertheless. "I guess you're living then," she eventually said.

(May I stalk? This looks interesting…)

"Fun," he admitted. "It was definitely the preferred outcome."
There was something intriguing about the young man in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with the strange eyes. Like there was more to him than he let on. Or even he knew about.

Tessa flapped her wings and shot into the sky. After a few moments, she tucked her wings and fell back down to the earth, letting gravity build up speed for her. When she reached the boy, she wrapped an arm around him and flared her wings to catch the updraft. She quickly glided over the ocean, tilting her body up so that she wasn't dragging him through the waves as she flew to land.

He wrapped his arms around her sides, deciding that that was the only option that made it seem like he wasn't copping a feel.

(What should attack them when they land?)

group

(hmmm, random magical robot bull? Ogres?)

She continued flying, nose flaring when she scented… something… from up ahead. She wondered if this strange dude could sense it, too.

"oOooo," he mumbled to himself, once again seeming to tune out Tessa. "Somethin' big's waiting at the beach….I can feel it on my fingertips. Like a heavy weight." He paused slightly in thought, then smiled to himself, pleased. "An ogre."

(Tune up imao, fuck my fingers and how they have a mind of their own)

group

"Oh, you gotta be fucking kidding me," Tessa grumbled. She reached the beach and dropped the guy, flapping her wings a few more times as she stood at attention. If she had movable ears, they'd be swiveling all over the place right now. Instead, her head was turning this way and that way, listening carefully.

He stumbled as she randomly dropped him, putting his hands out to keep his face from greeting the ground at high speed.
"To the West," he said helpfully, pushing himself up to his feet. "'Bout 200 meters out."

group

"Okay," she started, turning in that direction. "The walking magic detector stays here while I deal with it," she told him, checking to make sure her face mask was properly sealed against her skin.

Runner shook his head. "Nope, I'm coming with. You might need me."
He pulled the soaked sleeves on his hoodie up past his elbows to keep them out of the way.

(Should this ogre be able to cast spells, or no?)

group

(Yeah, let's give it a power-up from normal ogres. A high-class ogre?)

She sighed, not having the energy to argue with him. "Fine, but you'll need to have something to protect yourself with." She fished through her many pockets and grabbed a handful of small but extremely destructive explosives. "Just chuck these at the thing and let me do the rest." She handed him the small metal balls.
