She tilted her head, brows furrowing. "What do you mean by 'weird'?" she asked, confused as to what he was asking.

She tilted her head, brows furrowing. "What do you mean by 'weird'?" she asked, confused as to what he was asking.
"I mean….different. I've never seen any that even remotely look similar to mine." He finally took a bite of noodles, pleased by the lack of alcohol on his taste buds.
group
She shrugged, then held up her hands, palms up as if she were weighing something. "Dragons are unique to their persons. They might have the basic aspects of their type of dragon, but beyond that… It's difficult to explain. But I'd assume your mixed heritage has a part to play as well."
"…..Hm. I guess that makes sense." He glanced over at Tess, asleep on the couch. "I didn't think she'd pass out that hard."
group
"She's a sun dragon deprived of sunlight," Rhianon said with a dismissive wave of her hand. "The possession took too much out of her, no matter what she might try to tell you. Proud creatures, they are." She propped her head on her fist, strange eyes flickering as she gazed in Tessa's general direction.
((So, there's this moon dragon shapeshifter character that I've made for Tess. They basically grew up together and went through the same shit. Thoughts on a possible introduction?))
(I likes it lots)
"I knew it," he mumbled, rubbing the side of his face. "She was running on vodka as she tried to cook."
group
"Interesting…" She murmured, then blinked and faced Runner again. "Not a smart idea, I will admit. How did that fare?"
"She was tired enough that it didn't take much to get her to sleep," he admitted. "I just dragged her to the couch."
group
"A feat in itself," she said with a small chuckle. "Runner…how would you feel about another set of hands to deal with Agdrin and Theresa?"
"Yes," he responded immediately. "I think we'll need all the help we can get."
group
She smiled slightly. "Then I shall fetch a moon dragon to aid you. And…" she glanced over towards Tessa, "do keep this addition a secret from miss Hunt."
Runner tilted his head. "And why is that?"
(I'M CRYING)
group
"Because I have a feeling she'll like this surprise." Vague, but she didn't want Runner thinking that she was purposefully bringing competition into Runner's already complicated relationship with the dragon.
"So….they know each other?" This might make her a bit more comfortable, he thought, having no clue what his mother was planning.
group
She nodded, lacing her fingers together. "They practically grew up together, both in the streets and in their temporary homes."
"Sounds like a good idea to me," he said after taking another bite of noodles. "Like I said, we need all the help we can get."
group
She nodded and offered a small smile. "Well, now that I know you're safe, I'll leave you to your dinner. Take care of her, in the meantime," she added, jerking her chin in the direction of a sprawled out and murmuring Tessa, "You'll have help soon enough, but remember what I said earlier."
Runner stood up and walked over to his mother, offering his arms out. "A hug before you go?"
group
Her smile grew and she stood up, wrapping her arms around her son. "I'm sorry we can't have more time, but we will soon."
"I sure hope so," he mumbled, ignoring the slight pain in his midsection from the awkward position of his arms.
group
She pulled back, smile now slightly sad. "I must go, but we will see each other again. Do try to stay out of fights with her in the future."
He gave her a small grin back. "Yes ma'am, I'll try."
group
She kissed his forehead, then disappeared in a swirl of black, scentless smoke.
Tessa stirred slightly, but was still asleep and murmuring quietly to herself—words half Italian, half English.
Runner's nose scrunched up as he walked over to the couch, sitting in the space between Tess's feet and the arm of the couch. The pain was starting to get to him, but it made sense as the adrenaline was completely gone.
group
Tessa rolled over and curled up into a ball, face and front pressed against the back of the couch. Her muttering ceased, but she looked tense, as if bracing herself for something.
Runner propped his elbow up of the arm of the couch and set his head into his hand. There wasn't much he could do for Tess, and the stuff he could might kill him in the process.
group
She didn't stir any for a long while, her breathing even. After a long stretch of silence, she murmured softly, still facing the back of the couch, "Thank you."
"Hm?" Runner raised his head and looked over at Tess. "What do you mean?"
group
"For not blaming me, mostly," she said, still curled up, "There's more, but I'm too tired to go through it all."
