Rykah matched him easily, he woke up pretty quick to in the chilly morning air as he ran next to Will. "Why do you do this?" he asked.
“Gets rid of extra energy.” Will said, before lowering his voice a bit. “Don’t tell my family this, but…. it’s also a good way to get away from them. I love them, and I shouldn’t want to get away, but sometimes they get chaotic and I just needed a bit.”
"I can see that.." said Rykah, dropping back a bit as he found his rhythm.
Will nodded. “How do you feel about heading to the donut place?”
"That'd be nice" said Rykah with a grin.
Will smiled, turning a corner. After a few more minutes, he turned into the donut place’s parking lot.
Rykah jogged in behind him, almost gliding as he tried o slow down.
“What do you want, Rykah?” Will said, catching Rykah’s arm and stopping him.
"Anything really.." he said thinking, "Maybe chocolate?"
“Coffee?”
"Hot chocolate" said Rykah,
Will nodded. He turned to the cashier and ordered, getting himself an iced coffee and a custard donut.
Rykah ordered his food, and stepped back while Will took over.
Will paid for both of them, gesturing for Rykah to sit down while he got the food.
Rykah nodded, finding a spot near the edge, waiting for Will to come.
Will took the food, and brought it to Rykah, smiling.
Rykah grinned, finally sitting down.
Will dug into his donut, immediately spilling custard on his shirt. He laughed, and took a napkin to wipe it off.
Rykah giggled, laughing at Will as he took his donut.
Will smiled. “I suppose I should’ve done that slower.”
"Probably" said Rykah laughing as he took a small bite of his donut.
Will continued eating, before saying, “I’m going to get two more donuts for my brother and sister. I’ll be right back.”
"ok" said Rykah, sipping his hot chocolate.
Will ordered two plain donuts, comig back. He tore a piece off of what would be Jack’s, knowing Jack would only eat half of it.
Rykah watched, but didn't say anything as he sipped his hot chocolate.
“Ready to go?”
"Sure," said Rykah, grabbing his hot chocolate.
Will lead Rykah back to he house at a slower pace than last time.
Rykah didn't mind, sipping his hot chocolate as they went.
When they were back at the house, Will tossed Anna her donut, and handed Jack his. (Anna’s good at sports, Jack is uncoordinated as heck).
