Rykah shrunk away from the crowd a little… clearly nervous due to the way his ears were flat and his tail was flicking nervously and his feathers were all on end… there are way too many people!! he thought trying not to panic.
Soon enough, everyone in the group, about 20 people, were crowding around Will, making his anxiety go haywire. Jack pushed his way through, and immediately enveloped Will in a hug. “I’m sorry.” Will hugged his brother back, but looked over his shoulder for Rykah.
Rykah had backed away from the group and into his tent. One of the people had disturbed a peg in the ground and it was now coming loose and folding inwards.. oh no!
Will looked behind him and felt his stomach drop. Oh god. This is how you lose people. And without thinking very much, he snuck away from the group that was now gaping at the mess on the ground, and ran away into the forest. He wasn’t sure what he was doing, but he knew he was panicking, and he knew that he was screwed with his family AND Rykah.
Rykah tried to keep the tarp from falling but it ended up ripping in several places and becoming unusable. He quickly pulled his totebin out and flew it up the the platform in the tree and left it next to his sleeping bag before sitting down and trying to process what had just happened. Looking down he saw that will wasnt there anymore. Looking around he saw will headed towards the gorge just a little ways from here. he could get hurt! thought Rykah as a jolt of fear hit him. He quickly got to his feet and glided down pushing through the crowd and running off after Will.
Will stopped after a minute of running away, after he could no longer hear voices. He sat down on a log, putting his head on his knees.
Rykah ran silently through the woods til he saw Will. Breathing a sigh of relief he slowly walked up not trying to be quiet as he deliberately stepped on some twigs so he wouldnt startle will.
Will heard somebody stepping sticks. He knew it wasn’t his family, a.k.a. The most talkative people on earth. But he didn’t raise his head.
"Will?" Said Rykah softly.. coming to sit next to him..
Will didn’t say anything. He was afraid he’d start crying if he attempted, so instead he just moved closer to Rykah.
Rykah wrapped a wing around him… not saying anything other than just being there…
Will felt some sort of touch, and responded to it immediately. He leaned against Rykah, and tried to rid himself of the lump in his throat.
"Its gonna be ok…" whispered Rykah.. "I can find another tarp…"
“I-god. I’m tired.” Will didn’t mean it in the traditional sense. He meant he was tired of everything going wrong in some way or another.
(And I’m about to fall asleep, so I’m going to head to bed(sorry for the terrible rhyme). Sorry. We can continue in the morning(and by the way, my internet on my phone has been so crappy lately, so if I don’t answer, I probably tried to and it wouldn’t let me.))
Rykah couldn't help a small smile at that. "I know what you mean…" he said quietly. "And as much as I wanna stay here where its quiet we should probably head back and make sure they dont freak over you again. "
“Five mire minutes?”
"We should probably go now," said Rykah "but I happen to know a long way back" he said with a smirk.
Will smiled and stood up. “Lead the way.”
Rykah grinned as he led Will up the slope "So how are you gonna deal with all those people?" he asked quietly.
“My sister will eventually ask all of them to go home. Mostly so my brother doesn’t kill them.” Will replied.
"That's probably a good thing, then maybe I can start fixing stuff…" said Rykah thoughtfully as they crested a rise. they walked in mostly silence for a good 20 min before they reached Rykah's now destroyed fort.
It looked as though Anna had already chased the excess people off. Will’s brother looked extremely panicked, with Anna’s hand on his arm, talking to him quietly. His mother was on the phone and do was his father.
Rykah led Will down into the clearing "It's gonna be ok.." he said quietly as they came closer.
(BTW I will let you know now, I will NOT be on after 5 and ABSOLUTELY not after 6. I will possibly be back after 10PM ish…. but between 6 and 10 I am almost never on on wensdays…)
Will nodded in acknowledgment. His brother and sister looked up.
Rykah tensed a little when Will's siblings laid eyes on them. staycalmitscoolstaycalmdontfreak he told himself repeatedly, doing his best not to show how nervous he was.
Jack immediately got up and tackled Will in a hug. It was obvious he had been crying. Anna came up behind them and turned to Rykah. She stuck out her hand for him to shake.
Rykah shook her hand nervously, and quickly pulled away to go look at the damage to his home. Coming closer he saw that the tarp was nearly ripped in two. and had several other rips and tears as it hung loosely on the tree branches and the car seat inside.
Will hugged Jack back, and waved at Anna.
