Amelia saw Peter swing by. "Peter!" She yelled at him. "Get Rita out of here! Now!"
Save Me // One-On-One // CLOSED
"No!" Rita cried. "You have to do it now or else it all will be for nothing!"
Peter shot out webbing to Rita and she was pulled towards him. He climbed away, and as soon as Amelia knew they were gone, she started to cast the spell.
Rita screamed in pain, blood pouring from her wound. She hugged close to Peter and kept whispering, "I'm sorry," over and over again.
"I call the darkness unto me from deepest depths of earth and sea!" Amelia recited. A black cloud started to form around her. "From ancient evils unawoken, break the one that can't be broken! To blackest night I pledge my soul and crush my heart to burning coal! To summon forth a deathly power and see my hated foe devoured!"
Rita watched her sister. Black dots crept at the edges of her vision. Her whole body felt numb.
Amelia screamed in pain as black started to spread along her arms. It was a side affect of the spell.
Rita tried to get to her sister. "Amelia…" her lips mumbled.
The spell had its affect. A blast of magic was sent out and destroyed the robots nearby.
Rita felt herself becoming dead weight. Whatever vision she had left was blurred.
Amelia's breath became raspy.
Rita lost consciousness.
Amelia's head whipped around when she heard a crack. She saw Rita's body lying on the ground and let out a scream.
Rita moaned. She'd woken and endured the worst of the fall thanks to her super strength, but her life was fading fast.
Thinking Rita was dead because of the fall from that height, Amelia fell to her knees, screaming. A blast of magic was sent out and further destroyed the robots.
"Ame…" Rita breathed softly, only able to manage her sister's nickname.
Amelia stood up and tried to run towards Rita, screaming. Peter dropped down behind Amelia and restrained her.
"Ame…" Rita repeated.
Amelia struggled against Peter, still screaming.
"Ame," Rita said faintly, but still loud enough for both of them to hear.
Unable to hear Rita over Amelia's screams, Amelia gave up. She turned around and started to sob into Peter's chest.
Rita's arm shifted. With her last bits of strength, Rita spoke as loud as she could: "Amelia!"
Amelia heard Rita's mild call and ran over.
Rita smiled a little. Her face was very pale. "Hey, sis."
"Rita, don't you die on me. I need you."
“I kinda… have a… bullet in… my side…” she replied, her words slow so that they could be clearer. “Might be… a little hard… to fix.”
"And who are you speaking to?" Amelia asked softly. She started to get to work on Rita's wound, which very slowly started to heal.
“What?” Even if Rita has understood, her vision was so spotted and blurred that she wouldn’t have been able to tell anyway.
"Reality manipulation, remember? I can heal you only part way, then you'll have to go to hospital."
"No… time…" she breathed.
