Save Me // One-On-One // CLOSED

"Hold the transport!" Sandra yelled. She made it and looked back. "Amelia! Peter! Hurry! We have to leave now!"

Amelia hovered Rita's body over to Sandra, who took her. She then focused on running.

"Should I take off?" the pilot asked.
"No! Hold the transport!" Sandra yelled back.

Peter reached the transport before Amelia. Turning around, he saw her far behind. He shot put webbing, pulled her towards him and held her to his side. He then motioned to Sandra.

"Go!" she yelled to the pilot. The transport took off and made it back to the helicarrier just in time.

Peter held Amelia's body to him as it started to shake with tears.

Sandra went over to help comfort Amelia. What happened? she mouthed to Peter.

I don't know exactly, Peter mouthed back. Rita just died.

Sandra rubbed Amelia's back gently. "Are you okay?" she asked quietly.

"I promised our parents that I would protect her… And now she's gone."

"You did your best," Sandra assured her.

"Rita was all I had for 17 years. Our parents died when she was young. I promised I would protect her. And I failed."

"You did your best," Sandra repeated. "Can you tell me what happened? If you're comfortable with it."

"That's the thing. I don't know what happened. She just suddenly died."

"Did you see what happened Peter?" Sandra asked, looking at him.

"Sorry, but no. I didn't even realise she died until Amelia started to break down."

Sandra nodded. "Amelia, I'm sure that she died for a purpose."

"Really? Cause it doesn't feel like that."

"Well, I certainly don't think she would've just thrown her life away," Sandra pointed out.

"She wouldn't let me save her," Amelia fired back. "I'm extremely capable of altering reality and healing her wound, but she wouldn't let me."

Sandra considered this. "Doing that would've severely hurt you. Rita knew that, and she didn't want you to get hurt."

"That doesn't hurt me!" Amelia yelled. "My powers have no possibility of hurting me unless I turn them on myself!"

"And you would've to have saved Rita," Sanda continued, trying to soothe her.

"No, I wouldn't! Why do you think that?! You all think you know how my powers work! Well, guess what?! You don't!" Amelia shouted, angry. Her eyes started to glow a pale scarlet.

Sandra noticed quickly. "Amelia, you need to calm down," she whispered.

"No! You don't get to tell me to calm down! My sister just died and now you're assuming that you know my capabilities!" The scarlet grew more vibrant.

"Amelia, please!" Sandra pleaded. "You're not the only one who is upset!"

"Upset? You think this is upset? I'm past upset! I am livid."

Sandra tensed. "Amelia, please calm down. We can talk."

"No! Everyone thinks they know why limits and tries to suppress my magic! When I joined this team, you tried to control them, as if you were afraid of what I could do!"
