Just a Mocha or something is fine. I like sweet stuff, usually
Joey looked up and set his phone down when a customer came in, although they didn't really need assistance.
got it!
Stopping by a coffee shop on his way, Sol ordered himself an iced coffee and a mocha with extra whipped cream for Joey.
coffee in hand, on my way! :)
Thanks, see you soon <3
Joey smiled softly and leaned against the desk to wait, perking up when he heard the door open.
“Hey, I come bearing coffee,” Sol greeted with a grin, coming over to lean on the counter. “Hope you like it.”
"Hey! Thanks a lot, I was considering going out myself, but I figured I shouldn't leave the store without anyone else here…" Joey accepted the coffee and started sipping at it contentedly. "How long can you stay?"
“For a while, I don’t have any plans until mid afternoon,” Sol replied, drinking his iced coffee. “Are you… are you free tonight?”
"Yeah, I should be." Joey smiled softly, looking up at Sol. "Why do you ask? I get off at six today, by the way."
“I was thinking we could hang out, maybe watch a movie, if you’d like,” Sol offered, looking more nervous than he usually did when he asked to make plans.
"Sure, if you want to! What movie?" Joey asked curiously, toying with the straw in his Mocha idly.
“Star Wars? Or any Disney movie. Or any movie you like,” Sol was rambling. He heard himself and yet. Get it together!
"Sure, I'm fine with anything." Joey smiled up at Sol, tapping one foot on the floor. "What are you so nervous about?"
“Great! Oh, nothing, estello, I’m fine,” Sol gave a lopsided smile. Solaris Forest, Fey lord, gang leader, warrior. Cannot even ask someone out properly. Stars.
"If you say so." Joey yawned a bit and ran his fingers through his hair, humming softly to himself. "How did you sleep last night?"
“Eh, not terribly,” Sol shrugged slightly, smiling at Joey. “Kind of restless, but I’m used to it. How about you? You seem tired.”
Joey nodded a bit. "Not great… I had a headache that woke me up pretty early, and I couldn't fall back asleep."
“Oh I’m sorry, sweetheart. Maybe we should postpone hanging out, you need to get a good nights ,” Sol said.
"No, I'm alright, really… I've got coffee now." Joey lifted up the cup a bit. "As long as I'm not there until midnight or something, I'll be alright."
Sol chuckled, raising his own cup. “I definitely won’t keep you that long, and I can supply more coffee if need be.”
Joey nodded, drinking more of his coffee. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll be perfectly fine. I've functioned on less sleep before anyway."
Sol hummed doubtfully, but didn’t argue. “Well I’ll make sure you get home early enough to get plenty of sleep.”
"Sounds good to me. Anything you wanna do while you're here?" He asked. "I can't leave yet, so… you know. Options are a bit limited."
“I’m happy to help with anything you need, or we can just talk,” Sol offered with a smile. “Or I could read if you need to do anything, I’m happy just being here.”
"Well, I don't need to do much right now, but I'm happy to read with you." Joey smiled softly and reached out to take Sol's hand in his own, much smaller one.
Slo’s heart warmed and he lightly squeezed Joey’s hand. “Sounds good, estello. What book do you recommend?”
"Well, I can show you some I think you'd like…" Joey got to his feet and led Sol through the aisles, pointing out books that he thought might interest him.
Sol paid attention to every title Joey pointed out and picked up a couple that intrigued him until eventually they wound up back at the counter.
"There you go. You theoretically don't have to check them out if you read them here in the store, but if you wanna bring it home to keep reading, you'll have to check it out."
“I might as well check them out, I usually go back and reread parts,” Sol smiled, setting the books down.
"Alrighty. You can check them out later or now if you want." He shrugged a bit. "You'll probably want to see if you like them first."
