Spencer stepped inside and glanced around. The lights were all off, and no sounds could be heard coming from the first floor. Only creaking boards alerted them to the presence of someone in the house.
"He's upstairs," Spencer murmured.

"He's upstairs," Spencer murmured.
“It might not even be him,” Anya murmured. “Do you know what this guy looks like?”
"No idea. All I was told to do was get in, get the money, get out," Spencer explained with a shrug. "Any ideas?"
“Surprise him, threaten him, ask him what his name is?” Anya thought aloud. “No, that puts us in a position of weakness. How’s this: you do the first plan, I surprise him if he doesn’t go for it?”
"What was the first plan, though?" Spencer muttered under his breath, starting toward the stairs.
“Surprise him, threaten him, ask him what his name is,” Anya smiled, nudging his shoulder. “Go.”
"How is that a plan?" Spencer asked, shaking his head as he walked up the stairs.
“Trust me,” Anya muttered. “Or don’t. I don’t care.”
"Hm," Spencer grunted in response as he slipped around the corner at the top of the stairs.
Anya didn’t even go up the stairs. She just listened intently, waiting for the “Argh!” and muffled noises. Meanwhile, she looked for an alternate route to the second floor.
A man walked around the corner and jumped at the sight of an unfamiliar man in his house.
"Who are you? What are you doing in my house?" he demanded.
//me? Do I play the man?
Anya heard a man speak, but it wasn’t Spencer, so she remained hidden in the shadows.
(Nah. I just didn't write much cause, ya know, work… I've gtg. I'll bbl.)
//okey dokey lol
"Just the messenger. You owe a man some money, don't you?" Spencer questioned him.
"Y-yeah… What's it to you?" the man asked.
"He wants it. Now," Spencer declared, his voice deep and threatening.
Anya stayed in the shadows, listening intently. “Hurry up,” she whispered.
(Ugh… I don't know if I should make this difficult for them or easy.)
"All right, all right!" the man said, putting his hands in the air defensively. He took a step back, starting toward the way he'd come. "I'll get the money, okay?"
//lol. Its up to you
Anya gently drummed her fingers on her thigh. He could really be going to get a gun or something…. whelp, we’ll see how this goes…
(Easy…)
"I'll come with you," Spencer said, his voice holding no room for argument. He and the man walked into a room, where the latter grabbed a bag from under a cluttered desk. He handed it to Spencer, practically shoving it in his hands.
"There. Now you can go."
//lol
Open it… but carefully… look for traps… cONSTANT VIGILANCE… Anya hated not being in the center of it, but she knew that this man would not respond nearly as well to a woman. It was stupid, but that’s how it is in this flippin world.
(Lol. Anya…)
Spencer stared at the man for a moment before opening the bag. He checked inside for anything out of the ordinary.
Nothing. Just money. And a lot of it.
"All right," Spencer said simply, nodding once.
//:P
Anya tensed. She only heard Spencer say “All right,” and she didn’t know why. Do we even know how much money to get….?
"I'll leave now. You're free to do whatever you wish, now," Spencer said, walking out of the room without turning his back to the man. He made his way back to Anya and held the bag up.
“‘You’re free to do whatever you want now’? Really? Now he’ll shoot you!” Anya hissed. “Let’s go while we still can.”
"He won't shoot me," Spencer sighed as he quickly led Anya down the stairs. "He was too afraid."
“Always err on the side of caution,” Anya said, but she allowed herself to relax— a bit.
"Hence the reason we're getting out of here," Spencer muttered, opening the back door for her.
“Good point,” Anya smiled, stepping outside.
Spencer closed the door and looked to Anya.
"Unlock the car, please. We should really be getting back as quickly as possible."
Anya opened the car door. (Because distance. :P) “Already done.” She climbed into the passenger seat.
