She followed Arwen to the house, arm up in a faint attempt to stay somewhat dry.
Supernatural (o/o, closed.)
Opening the door, Arwen presented her drab house. "Here it is. Nothing fancy."
"I don't think you understand how incorrect that is. I haven't been in a house in years, not one I was staying in at least." Diana stated as she looked around in awe.
"Wow. Come with me, I'll show you the guest room," She looked at Diana.
Diana followed happily, and Bas wriggled in Arwen's arms, eager to go explore.
Arwen set Bas down and pointed to a door. "Here it is. Make yourself comfy."
Bas took off, and functionally disappeared. Diana pushed open the door and stopped, turning back to Arwen. "Thanks, again. I'll try and get some sort of gig or something so that I can pay rent."
Nah, it's fine. I own the property," Arwen responded. "But grocery help, I might need that," She admitted shamefully
"Then I can definitely help with that."
"My girlfriend used to help…. she died a few months ago…" She shared. STOP IT Arwen thought. You've hardly known her for an hour!
Diana nodded, a look of understanding passing over her face. "I…get it. Older pain, but I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm sorry."
"it's OK, I guess. The thing is, I didn't know about her plans," A tear slipped down her cheek. "I'm sorry. I s-shouldn't be dumping t-this on you…"
Diana stepped forward, hesitantly opening her arms in offering of a hug.
Arwen accepted the hug, awkwardly. "I'm s-sorry. Really," She said after a moment. "You should get settled…"
"It's fine. It's not like I'm in any rush." Diana said softly, habitually smoothing down Arwen's hair in a calming movement.
"A-are you sure..? I hate crying…"
"It's fine, hon. Don' worry."
"Thanks…" Arwen turned away.
"Take all the time you need, alright?"
"Okay…."
Diana hummed softly as she held Arwen, still smoothing down her hair.
Arwen continued to sob into Diana's shoulder. She took a deep breath. She smells good…
Diana looked down at the woman crying, and smiled sadly. She got it, losing someone you loved.
Arwen regained some composure. "I'm really, truly sorry. You go get settled, and I'll make something to eat."
"Don' apologize for that." Diana said, releasing Arwen a bit hesitantly.
She patted Diana on the back. "I over apologise. Never been good enough, but I'm tryin'. If ya need to talk, I'm here."
"I think you're perfectly amazing. And thank you, I just might take you up on that."
"Aww, thanks, hun. You're amazing too! Now, go set your stuff down. How do you feel about cucumber?" Arwen asked.
"I've never eaten a cucumber in my life, sounds great!" Diana grinned.
Arwen grinned back/ "Really now? Well, I think you'll like it. I can bring some in here, if you'd like to get the feel of the room"
