"Can we?" He asked, sniffing softly. Kyle didn't know if he really wanted to sleep right now, despite how exhausted he felt.
The Hero and The Villain (Closed)
“Mhm.” He replied, leaning over to grab the tv remote and turning on the television. “What do you wanna watch, darling?” He asked with a small smile.
He shrugged, drawing patterns on Caleb's chest idly. What he was drawing was a mystery, but he didn't take his eyes off it as he replied, "A Disney movie."
“M’kay I’ll see what I can find.” He probably turned on Netflix or something, searching for one. “You care which one it is?”
He shook his head, not taking his eyes off the others chest and his drawing, "Anything is fine. Nothing scary, though."
“Okay then we’re watching Hercules. Because we can and I have an unhealthy obsession with that movie.” He said with a small smile as he put it on.
"The little mermaid is better then Hercules." Kyle replied, a smile tugging at his lips, "By like a lot."
“Shhh Meg is a badass love interest character and the album is a bop. I will fight you on this.”
"I prefer the more orchestral vibe you get from the little mermaid. And Sebastian is the best side character."
“That’s fair, that’s fair..” he tried to think up a counter argument. “But I Won’t Say I’m In Love is so iconic!!”
"Yes but so is Under The Sea," He replied, "They're both good in their own right, how about that?"
“Fair enough..we’ll agree to disagree.” He smiled over at Kyle, gently ruffling his hair. “Now let’s just relax and enjoy Hercules being a pretty boy.”
Kyle blushed softly, snuggling into the others side to hide it and his growing smile, "I am not pretty.." he protested weakly, but wouldn't put up much more of a fight.
“You are too, now shush.” As the movie started he’d begin to play with Kyle’s hair, a blissed out smile on his face. The simple moments like this were what he loved most. Just being able to relax with Kyle at his side.
Kyle hummed happily, relaxing more into Caleb and the bed. He wished they could spend more time like this, more time without worrying about anything.
Caleb knew that their problems should be over soon. If everything kept going according to plan that is. After four years of being a vigilante, his work might be done soon.
As the movie dragged on, Kyle's eyes slowly began to close, even though he forced them to stay open. He could feel the ice slithering in his veins and quite frankly he was scared to fall asleep, just in case he hand an attack again.
Caleb of course noticed this. “You don’t need to stay awake. Go ahead and get some rest, I’ll be right here.”
Kyle shook his head, taking a deep breath and opening his eyes wider, "No, nope I'm fine, I don't need rest."
Caleb paused the movie, looking over at him in suspicion. “I don’t believe you.” He said simply. “C’mon talk to me”
He shrugged a shoulder, fiddling with the others shirt, "I dunno.. just don't want anything bad to happen while I'm asleep."
“And that’s why I’m here. To stop any bad things that might happen” He reassured, gently caressing Kyle’s cheek.
Kyle nodded, leaning into the touch as he gently closed his eyes, "You promise?" He mumbled, releasing a shaky breath.
“I promise.” He repeated. “Get some rest darling.” His voice dropped to a whisper, and he gently kissed Kyle’s forehead.
Kyle once again nodded, sniffling as he made himself comfortable. Everything would be fine, right? Yeah.. he could afford at least a couple hours of sleep.
Caleb gently ran his hands through Kyle’s hair, watching his boyfriend slowly drift off to sleep. “I love you.” He whispered.
Kyle let out a sleep hum in response, already drifting off into unconsciousness. Having Caleb there helped, it helped a lot.
Caleb would stay by Kyle’s side for the whole time, not planning on moving until Kyle woke up. If something happened, he wanted to make sure that he was there.
Even in his sleep, Kyle wrapped an arm around Caleb, drawing him closer for warmth and comfort. At some point during his time unconscious, he started shivering, trembling either from the cold or something different.
Caleb pulled Kyle closer, kissing his forehead. “It’s okay.” He said softly, even knowing Kyle couldn’t hear him.
