Caleb’s smile grew. “I love you” He mumbled.

“I-I love you too…” He whispered back.
Caleb adjusted his grip on Kyle, squeezing him a bit tighter.
Kyle let out a tired giggle, yawning softly a moment later.
“Do you still need more sleep?” He teased.
Kyle pouted, hiding his face in Caleb’s chest, “No… I’m perfectly fine…”
“You sure about that, hun?” He asked with a grin, lifting up Kyle’s chin and forcing him to make eye contact.
Kyle nodded, blinking a few times to keep his eyes open. He was determined to stay awake.
He chuckled “baby if you really do need to sleep, I’m not gonna stop you”
“I don’t!” He protested, “I wanna stay awake with you…”
“Baby, go to sleep, you’ll feel better if you do”
"N-No I… won't…" He mumbled, though he did close his eyes, "I wanna be… be awake for when Dark… gets here…"
“Try and sleep for me please?” He said, kissing his forehead.
He hummed a little, letting himself relax and slowly start to fall asleep.
Caleb was glad that Kyle would be asleep. He knew that to get to wherever Dark was taking them, they’d be split up. That’s all Veronica could really tell him.
Kyle, even though he hadn't wanted to, eventually fell into a deep sleep. His breathing turned nearly invisible and honestly he looked dead but he still had a pulse.
And of course Caleb checked to make sure he was alive. After a few minutes he heard a knock on the door, Veronica. “You ready?” She asked.
“I guess
Kyle shifted at the noise but didn't wake.
Caleb walked back over to Kyle, planting a light kiss on his cheek before walking out the door with Veronica.

Kyle awoke a little while later, feeling even worse then he he had previously. When he noticed Caleb was gone, he felt panic start to set in very quickly, those negative thoughts starting to slowly creep back in though he tried to block them out.
((Oop I realize I didn’t clearly explain them getting separated and definitely caused more panic than intended lmao))
“Sorry I didn’t want to wake you up” came a voice behind him, in the kitchen, where none other than Dark was sitting on the fucking counter.

Kyle’s head snapped to Dark and he frowned, “Wh-Where’s…. C-Caleb?” He asked, voice hoarse and quiet.
“I’m going to take you to him. We just couldn’t have all of us going the same route at the same time, it’s too risky. Soooo we split up, he and Veronica are taking a different way to get there. You ready to go?”
Kyle shrugged a shoulder, standing and wobbling on his feet, “I-I’m r-really… s-sick.”
“Jesus, you really weren’t kidding” he said, hopping off the counter. “Well I guess we’ll just have to deal with it, unfortunately.”
Kyle nodded, wiping his face with the back of his sleeve, “N-Not my f-fault I got s-sick.”
“I know, now come on, I’ll help you.”
Kyle offered a tired smile, grateful of the help.
“Okay so I’m gonna sound crazy, so I need you to trust me. Basically…we’re walking from roof to roof…through the air.”
Kyle blinked once, “Y-You think I’m w-well enough f-for that?”
