"I don't trust myself to drive. I live…I live close, though," Aza said awkwardly.

"Okay. I'll make sure that you get home, then I'll head to my place." Raeden replied, also slightly awkward.

"I can walk home myself. If you-If you need to get home."

"No, I'll be fine. Like I said, my mom's at work. She could care less. I'll make sure you get home."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm absolutely positive. Why don't you show me to your place?" he said, posing it as a question that really was a statement.

"Are you sure?" she repeated, nervous. "I-I live alone, so…"

"What do you mean, you live alone? Isn't that, like, illegal?" Raeden asked, incredulous. "Do you need to stay at my place?"

"It's not illegal," Aza said with a smile. "I think." She stared at her feet. "I think I'll be okay."

"Okay. I'll trust you. But we need to get you home."

"Yeah. Yeah, okay."

Raeden helped Aza up, unsure where to go. "So. Where do you live?"

Aza offered him a rueful smile. "Harem Park." She looked into his eyes. "I live in Harem Park."

"Okay. Let's go." Raeden took Aza's hand and headed toward the door.

"You're not going to say something? I live in a park, Raeden," Aza said, skeptical.

"Oh, I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to offend you." Raeden replied.

"I doubt you could offend me," Aza said.

"You'd be pretty darn surprised at what I can say," he said. "But we need to get you back home. Let's go."

"Home," Aza agreed. She moved toward the door.

The walk to the park wasn't a far one, maybe three blocks. As he saw the sign, he looked over at Aza. "You sure you don't want to stay with me?"

"It wouldn't be a burden?" Aza said, still worried. "Or-or awkward?"

"No! It'd be awkward, but perfectly fine. My mother would be glad to have you!" Raeden replied.

"Oh. Um, okay, I guess. I'll just grab a few things." She pointed to a large oak. "I'll be right back."
She ran over to the tree, shimmied up it and rummaged through a backpack at the top. Thinking twice, she slung the backpack and its contents over her shoulder. She swung down by a few branches and jogged back over to Raeden. "Okay," she said, breathless.

"Okay. Let's go." Raeden took Aza's hand and started walking towards his house.

"You're sure?" Aza said for the umpteenth time, but she followed him.

"More than. My mom's rarely home, trust me. When she's home, we're at school." Raeden said. "We'll be there soon."

She sighed. "Okay."

The house approached three blocks later. "Tada. Home sweet home!" Raeden pointed his head to the baby blue house.

Aza tilted her head. "I like the color," she said softly. It'd be perfect on Raeden, like a t-shirt, or a hoodie.
