(sure)
The Man and His Assistant
Nathalie left the plane, patiently waiting for the Manchesters to follow suit.
(it's suit, not suite. Suite is like a hotel suite, and is pronounced sweet (I don't mean o sound picky I was jus pointing it out (my mums a teacher so it's a bad habit of mine)))
Henry exited first, Jace not far behind. He guard at Nathalie.
(Sorry, I was tired when I wrote that. XD)
Nathalie didn't look at Jace. "Can I help you with your bags, Mr. Manchester?" she asked.
Henry looked at her with a smile on his face. "Nope. I've got them. And call me Henry."
"Are you sure?" she asked, clearly hesitant to address him by his first name.
"Very sure. We aren't at working anymore, so there's no need to be formal with each other."
"Right," she replied with a nod. "Do you need me to help with your bags, Jace?" she asked gently.
Jace didn't answer, he simply glared. The glare said enough.
Nathalie quickly averted her gaze by checking her phone. "Our car is waiting," she informed Henry.
Henry clicked his phone off and pit it in his pocket. "Ah, lovely."
Nathalie lead the way through the crowded airport until she reached the main doors, which she held open for both the Manchesters.
Jace pushed past her, not stopping to thank her.
She inhaled sharply and gritted her teeth as her back pressed painfully against the door when Jace pushed past her.
Jace heard Nathalie's sharp intake of breathe and smirked.
"Would you like to sit in the front, Jace?" Nathalie asked as they neared the car.
Jace said nothing and took the front seat.
Nathalie pressed her lips together and slipped into the back.
Henry glared at his son as he hopped into the car next to Nathalie.
(I'm kind assuming it's a taxi?)
(I was thinking a chauffeur was waiting for them or something, but yeah, it can be a taxi.)
Nathalie sat rigidly, just like she usually did, and trained her gaze on the window.
(I'm imagining them having landed in England, so a taxi makes more sense)
Jace looked out the windows as the sights went past. It had been years since he came back. Jace was originally from England, and had lived there for 6 years before Henry adopted him in America.
(Alright, cool!)
Nathalie admired the elegance of the city. England was unlike what she'd imagined, and it amazed her. But, of course, she hardly showed it. Hiding her emotions was natural to her.
Henry could tell that Jace was getting excited, simply by reading his son's body language.
Nathalie smiled briefly to herself, unable to hide it. Her shoulders visibly dropped, a sign of her relaxing.
Henry sensed Nathalie relax, and he found himself relaxing as well.
A notification made her tablet buzz in her fingers. She hadn't checked it since the takeoff, even though she turned Airplane mode off when they landed.
54 unread emails
She blinked and sighed. No vacation for her…
Henry took Nathalie's tablet off her and placed it in his backpack.
"Mr. Manchester?!" She looked over at him incredulously. "I…"
"We're on holidays, Nathalie. No work."
"It's urgent, sir," she insisted.
