Nathalie turned and looked out the window. She tried to keep her mouth in a straight line, but it kept twitching, much to her annoyance.
The Man and His Assistant
Jace stared at Nathalie.
"Shouldn't we be going, sir?" Nathalie asked Henry quietly.
Henry snapped his eyes away from her. "Right, yes." He pressed his foot on the accelerater and the car started to move.
Nathalie blushed a little and looked out the window.
The beautiful scenery passed by as they drove.
Nathalie didn't say much, just admired the view and occasionally checked her phone.
Jace looked between Nathalie and Henry.
"How far away is it, sir?" Nathalie asked.
"The airport? Or the place we're staying?"
"The airport," she replied, checking her phone again.
"Hmm…. About ten minutes with good traffic flow."
Nathalie nodded, satisfied with that answer.
They sat in silence. Jace hummed softly.
Nathalie was calculating in her head with times. She had to make sure that they got to the airport, flew, reached their vacation house on time.
"We'll get there in time, Nathalie. Don't worry. It's all sorted."
She opened her mouth slightly, then shut it. She looked out the window again.
After a few minutes, the road started to curve and became the airport road.
(idk what American airports are like (last time I went to America I was ten and it was five years ago) so I'll probably end up describing an Australian airport)
(That’s fine! XD)
Nathalie watched the airport loom in front of them. Her eyes took it all in.
"Ever been to the airport before, Nathalie?"
"Yes, but it was when I was very young," she replied, trying to contain herself.
"Mind if I ask where you were headed?"
"We were flying to the capital of the United States," she replied. "And it was nothing like this."
"Because we're flying to another country?"
She shrugged. "Maybe."
"Well I'm excited," Jace said suddenly. "Maldives. England. Perfection."
Nathalie looked out the window again. "Yes, it is exciting."
"You wouldn't be coming if we hadn't ordered an extra ticket," Jace mumbled.
(bump)
"You wouldn't be coming if we hadn't ordered an extra ticket," Jace mumbled.
Nathalie heard and flushed slightly. She hoped Henry hadn't.
