Eclipse blinked in surprise, not used to being offered anything, even food.

The woman filled up three more bowls and slid them on the table.
"Eat up, boys. You have quite a journey ahead of you, don't you?"
Her granddaughter looked up. "Wait, where are you going, Felix?"
He gave a halfhearted smile as he sat at the table. "I don't know. Just not here. Far away."
Eclipse stared, not sure if he was meant to join them or not, taking a tentative step backwards, afraid of doing something wrong and earning their wrath.
group
Felix gave Eclipse a motion to sit down next to him, giving him a bright, warm smile. He pushed one of the untouched bowls over to his spot and placed a spoon next to it.
Eclipse stared at it for a moment, before hesitantly taking the seat, terrified he was goign to do something wrong, not sure if the food was for him or not.
group
"Here, that's yours," Felix reassured him.
Thyra had just sat down at the other side of the table with her granddaughter and was speaking with the girl quietly.
Eclipse nodded tensely, finally relaxing enough to each, still scard he'd do something wrang and lose the priveledge.

Felix ate fairly quickly, finishing before his host had. She looked over at him and smiled slightly.
"Would you like any more, dear?" she asked, then turned to Eclipse, "And you can have seconds too, if you'd like. You only need ask."
Felix shook his head. "I think I'm fine. Thank you. I… I really appreciate all you've done for me. Just this visit alone, and of course, over the years. It's going to be difficult not having you to rely on, but hopefully I can get a more upstanding job and won't have to worry so much about that."
Eclipse had barely managed to eat half of his, not used to getting very much, despite being royalty. "N-No thank you…" he mumbled, almost inaudibly.
group
"Alright, then. I've been happy to have you two over, even if it doesn't seem to be in the best of times. I hope our paths do cross again someday, but if not, well… just remember me, alright?" Thyra smiled.
Felix tried to smile back, but his expression was kind of sad. He was leaving everything he had ever known now. Not that it was the most savory past, but there were pieces of it that he would miss.
"Yeah… I'll miss you a lot. I can guarantee that."
Eclipse couldn't help feeling like this was his fault. He couldn't help thinking that if he'd just finished the job that night Felix wouldn't have gotten hurt or had to leave his friends behind…
group
"Well, it was inevitable," Felix sighed, "I knew I'd have to leave once my lifestyle changed. Hey- uh… Eclipse, I'm ready to go whenever you are. I just need to grab my things."
Eclipse blinked, coming back to reality when Felix said his name, "Uhm.. y-yeah… I'm ready…" he murmured.
group
Felix got up and thanked Thyra one more time. She stopped him before he left.
"Don't forget the elixir and salve," she reminded him.
Felix nodded then headed to the other room to gather his things.
Eclipse sat there, not entirely sure what to do as he pushed his bowl bak a little, "Th-Thank you… for… for everything.." he said softly.
group
Thyra smiled. "Of course, dear. Safe travels to you two."
Felix slipped the jar of salve into his bad and carefully sat the jug of elixir near it, along with the note Thyra left on it. He made sure all of his weapons and supplies were in order, then went to put on his shoes.
Eclipse nodded, hesitantly getting up and going to watch Felix, wating to leave as he pulled up his hood again.
group
"Alright, let's go," Felix said as he finished lacing up his boots.
He stood up and made his way out the door first, carefully scanning outside for any danger.
Eclipse nodded, following cautiously, keeping his head down.

Felix lead the way towards the stables and started a conversation with the merchant who worked there.
"I would like to buy two horses and a cart," he requested, once he was up to the counter in the small building.
"Draft horses?"
He looked at Eclipse. Neither of them was very heavy.
"Something medium-sized. Doesn't have to be a draft horse. A smaller cart will do as well."
"Alright, come out back with me to take what you need, and I'll take payment once you've chosen."
Eclipse was definitely not heavy, especially from a skimpy diet, something he was suddenly more aware of as he followed Felix around the back.
group
Felix picked a cart big enough for them both to lie down in, and with a bit of recommendation, picked two stallions to pull the cart: one a chestnut color and the other a light gray. After getting the price, Felix dug up some gold coins and paid up.
The man helped them hitch the horses up to the cart, then returned to his storefront.
"Alright, we're out," Felix muttered to Eclipse, "I know a good route to take out of here. We should be pretty safe."
Eclipse nodded, having stayed as far back from the horses as possible, noting how they eyed him nervously. "O-Okay.." he said softly.
group
"Oh, right. The horses."
Felix approached each one carefully from the side, then walked around in front of them, making eye contact.
"He's a friend. You'll be safe around him," Felix assured the two animals, "Besides, he'll probably spend most of his time in the cart and you won't have to worry about riding much, if at all. You guys have seen half-wolves before, I'm sure. They're not like regular wolves, and they won't hurt you, okay?"
It sounded like he was talking to two children. He had taken on a very soothing tone and was stroking each horse's muzzle as he spoke.
Eclipse watched him, suddenly feeling calmer himself, relaxing more than he had since he woke up.
group
Felix walked away and got up into the cart at the front, ready to go. He still had little green wisps of magic around his hands and throat that were fading by the second.
Eclipse carefully waled forwards, getting up into the back of the cart, feeling calmer than usual, probably his wolf side responding to the druid's magic.
group
"Alright, now we're off," Felix told the horses, "I'll give you directions as we go. We won't be needing a whip or any of that since I can just talk to you instead."
He was only perched up at the front so he could see what was going on ahead of them.
The horses nieghed in response, following Felix direction as they started off.
Eclipse let himself settle in the back end of the cart, thinking quietly.

Luckily, the stables sat at one of the outer edges of the town, and they were able to make a quiet escape. Felix kept a vigilant eye on the town around them, making sure nothing would threaten them. He noticed some unrest in the direction of the tavern that he'd been to the previous day, and while it made him nervous, he could only hope they wouldn't trace it back to him so easily. Except they totally could if he didn't get out now.
