Felix took another sip of water, then closed his bag. He leaned his head back. While he wanted to try to sleep, the pain was a bit much right now. He was hurting in places that hadn't even been injured, he had so severely overused his magic.

Eclipse watched the other carefully, hoping the other would still be okay.

Felix kept his eyes on the road ahead instead of sleeping, but he held almost perfectly still so he didn’t aggravate any of his injuries.
“How are you holding up?” he asked Eclipse.

Eclipse looked up a little bit when the other asked the question, "I'm okay.." he said softly, looking away again.

“Okay,” Felix replied, not sounding completely convinced.
But it’s not as if he could force an answer.
“Those guards were strong… I didn’t quite expect that.”

"They're always strong. Only the strongest were ever assigned to keeping me in line." said Eclipse softly.

“Well, with any luck, it won’t happen again,” Felix said, “I…”
He shifted a little bit, clearly hurting still. He grumbled to himself.
“Let’s just focus on the road ahead of us. Maybe we should be more vigilant while on the road. I… I fell asleep when I should’ve been watching.”

“Well, with any luck, it won’t happen again,” Felix said, “I…”
He shifted a little bit, clearly hurting still. He grumbled to himself.
“Let’s just focus on the road ahead of us. Maybe we should be more vigilant while on the road. I… I fell asleep when I should’ve been watching.”
Eclipse nodded, "I…. I should've helped too…." he said softly, "I'm the reason we're in danger…. so I should help[….. right?"

(Yeah no, this is one of the ones that I will read more than once, and mark unread a bunch, 'specially since I'm tryin' to make sense of one of my more early on background charas, and that takes effort… (Also if I'm off for more than 24 hrs, feel free to bump… that's the limit I put to bumping other Rps I have, so don't hesitate to do it too.))

“Maybe in time…” Felix sighed, “I… I hope that that can change.”
He brushed a strand of hair out of his eyes, kind of avoiding the other’s gaze.

Eclipse nodded quietly, his head dropping to stare at the floor of the cart once more.

"For now, let's just trek on, yeah?" Felix said softly, "We need to get to safety before all else."

Eclipse nodded a little, hugging himself quietly.

Felix shifted his position. Every inch of his body ached fiercely, but he did his best not to show it and made sure he faced away from Eclipse so as not to show his expression.
“What are you going to do once we’re home free?” Felix asked.

Eclipse hummed softly, "I.. I'm not sure…" he said, wondering a little.

"Yeah, me neither. Well, I do have a little of an idea of one thing I want to do…" Felix replied, "I want to open a shop."

Eclipse hummed softly, still thinking, before letting out a sigh, "Good for you.. I guess.."

"Well, I'll be with you as long as you need," Felix said, "At least until you figure out what you want. Me settling somewhere doesn't have to be the end of our partnership."

Eclipse nodded, relaxing a little bit at that, hoping he could eventually figure out what to do it life.

Felix tugged at his bandages a bit. He’d bound them too tight and they were digging into his skin.
“If you want to sleep, you can. I’m in too much pain to doze off, so I’m happy to keep watch.”

Eclipse shook his head, "No.. I'm too on edge to sleep right now…"

"That's fair," Felix replied, "Me too, if I'm being honest. That was a lot scarier than I expected…"
