Eclipse noticed that the other had slowed, and adjusted his pace to match. "Sorry.." he said softly, apologizing for going so fast.

“No need,” Felix replied, “We’ll keep a brisk, constant pace for now, and we can eventually stop and rest if need be. If you have more wounds, I can help.”
Eclipse nodded, "Just… just don't push it cause've me… I've got the endurance of a wolf…"
group
Felix chuckled. “Well, if that’s the case, I don’t feel so bad.”
He shivered a bit.
“Wish this damn rain would stop. I have a change of clothes, but it wouldn’t even be worth it.”
Eclipse hummed softly, keeping pace easily, "If you want I could shift… and we could get farther.."
group
“No, that’s okay,” Felix said, a little tense.
He didn’t particularly want to be that physically close to Eclipse, even if it was entirely for convenience.
Eclipse nodded quietly, and then fell silent.

Felix, too, was quiet as they continued. He was cold, uncomfortable, and generally could not wait to get a few towns over so they could rest. Inside.
Eclipse on the other hand wanted to go faster. He didn't care if he was tired and uncomfortable, he just wanted to be as far from the castle as possible.
group
Felix looked Eclipse up and down. He was definitely restless, but he dismissed it as general shock with the whole situation. After all, he had been ready to just end it all.
“Why would they treat you like that? Aren’t you supposed to be royalty or something?”
"At this point I don't even know.." said Eclipse quietly, his tone held emotionless, as if he just didn't want to feel anything about the situation. "All I do know is that my own father, and by example, anyone in the castle, hates my guts.."
group
“Sounds dumb on their part. You seem alright to me, princey,” Felix sighed, wringing a bit of water out of his hair.
The rain still came down, but it was letting up slightly.
Eclipse fell silent, not knowing how to respond to that. After all, he'd been surrounded by people who hated him allhis life.
group
“What? Don’t believe me?” Felix asked.
He walked directly beside Eclipse.
“I can see why. Even you were probably tricked into hating yourself. But I don’t hate you. I would’ve just let you die if my feelings on you were indifferent or worse.”
Elipse stopped moving at that. "N-No…" he murmured quietly. "W-Why would you care…?"
group
“There’s not really any rhyme or reason to it. I just do. Yeah, sure, I get hired to assassinate people, but that doesn’t mean I feel nothing. Usually I’m lucky enough to be hired to kill scumbags, but I don’t know… something about killing you just didn’t sit right with me. Perhaps you would just call it intuition, but I think you’re a pretty good guy at heart, you’ve just never been allowed to exercise autonomy,” Felix replied.
“Besides, you…”
He stopped. Was it okay to say he felt sorry for him and wanted him to have another chance at living a full life?
Eclipse took a step back. "Why? I-I'm nothing…" he murmured, beginning to cry. "I've always been nothing…"
group
"I don't really believe anyone is nothing," Felix replied, "It's just the circumstances that can make it seem that way. And trust me, it certainly feels that way for a lot of people sometimes. Maybe not for their whole life, but… Those thoughts even get to me sometimes."
Eclipse dropped to his knees at that, crying helplessly. He wasn't sure what to do with that information. After all, there was no way it was true.
group
Felix frowned.
“C-come on, now,” he said softly, “It’s alright… at least it will be now.”
Eclipse shook his head, sobbing quietly into his hands. He wasn't sure why he didn't just kick the chair away while he had the chance. Why.
group
“Why did you come with me then?” Felix asked, “You believed that this would be a better way out, didn’t you?”
Eclipse didn't know how to answer that. In truth he was terrified. He didn't know anything other than the beatings. He was their punching bag. That was it.
group
"Or maybe you were scared, but that's reason enough. No one deserves to be treated like they're nothing," Felix sighed.
He was getting very cold and tired, and his limbs were starting to ache a bit.
"Hey, how much further do you think we'll need to go?"
"A-As far as p-possible.." said Eclipse shakily.
group
"If you say so," Felix replied with a short sigh following.
He needed to rest, but he didn't want to if it meant the other would just insist he ride him in wolf form.
Eclipse nodded, stumbling to his feet, "I'll follow your lead…" he said softly.
group
"Right…" Felix murmured.
He tugged at the rough binding from the outside of his clothes. The water that had seeped through made matters worse, so he really needed to stop, rest, and fix things, but obviously that wasn't anything that Eclipse intended on doing. He didn't blame the guy for wanting to put as much distance as possible between himself and the castle, but he figured that since there was so much going on at the castle at the time, it would take a while for anyone to notice he was missing to begin with.
Eclipse was still nervous, but he waited for Felix to move first, his instincts telling him he'd be safe for a little while.

After stretching a little bit, Felix started forwards at a leisurely pace. He drew his hands into his cloak and closer to his body to warm them.
