The wolf in a red hood (romance one on one)
(Sorry, I probably won't be on for a while. My Grandpa passed away, so I'm spending time with family.)
(It's okay! I'm sorry about your Grandfather. Hope you and your family are alright. Answer when you can)
"If any of them cause any trouble they'll have to deal with me." Conner wasn't going to let thos alliance go bad, especially since him and Zyl were friends. Harlow played with her hair waiting for Val, though her and Conner talked things out… it was still somewhat awkward. Conner looked down at her, but quickly looked away. He needed to get over her. "So…." Harlow finally spoke up, "Does anyone want anything to drink?"
Val burst through the door with a bright and cheery hello. "So! why am I here?" she asked, hugging her bother and giving a happy wave to Harlow and Conner.
He smiled and explained what he and Conner were going to do in a few hours.
"oooh okay cool, so you two are forming an alliance, nice."
"There's more packs forming these days. You never know who will be your enemy, so an alliance is the best choice right now." He looked over at Val and was surprised at how grown up she was, she was just a small girl when he saw her last. "And… word has gotten out that an Alpha has a human mate," His eyes wandered to Zyl, "Which isn't settling well with other pack, so we have to be careful." Harlow had an idea of who has been telling people. Mazy. That awful girl.
Zyl was nodding in agreement until Conner mentioned the situation with other packs having a problem with a human mate. A low growl escaped him but he managed not to lash out, although his eyes turned a darker hue. “Nothing is official yet. Besides, it has nothing to do with them.” He ran a hand through his hair, slightly annoyed but calming down. “Val, would you mind taking Conner around the area where we hold meetings? I’m going to check on the pups real quick and the betas.” He glanced at Harlow and smiled softly “you can go to with them of you want, I don’t really know how exciting seeing the pups and betas isn’t going to be.”
Harlow gently took Zyl's hand and smiled. "If I'm going to be the mate of an Alpha, don't you think I should be learning thing from you?" Harlow also wanted to comfort him, she knew that he would get a lot of backlash because of her, it made her almost want to cry, but she held it back. "Sorry to tell you that, but I just wanted you to be aware." Conner chimed in before walking out the door. It still hurt a bit to see them together, feeling don't just disappear that easily, though he hoped it would get easier soon.
Zyl squeezed her hand gently and smiled. He glanced up at Conner and shook his head “it’s alright it’ll be dealt with.” He wrapped his free arm around Val as she quickly hugged them both and ran after Conner, he red and black hair whipping behind her “wait! Slow your roll!” He called after him, shutting the door behind her
"So Val, how have you been?" She's grown up so beautifully and it seemed Zyl trusted her to do more now. Though he started a conversation, he made sure to keep an eye and ear out. If anything happened to Val, Zyl would kill Conner. Harlow stood up when the other two left. "Alright, you ready?" She only met the pack once, but she was excited to get to know them better, she just hoped that they would accept her.
Val glanced up at the male and smiled. She had know him when they were all kids. Usually she thought of him as competition of the pack as well as kind of a jerk. She shrugged knowing things had changed for some time now and that he was trying to be better “been great, recently got into my top college for design and fashion. How about you? You’ve been gone for a while. Sorry to hear about your dad by the way.”
Zyl did a quick sweep of the place to make sure everything was alright before nodding and heading out the door. “They’ll excited to see you again.” He said with a smile. “Most of the teens you met when we were kids now have pups.” He gently took her hand in his “would you rather walk or ride?”
~
"Oh, it's okay. It wasn't like he was dad of the year." Conner gently chuckled. Val had grown nicely, it seemed Zyl was still protective over her. It hurt to see him and Harlow, but he would get over it. "I'm glad to hear things are going well…" He pused for a moment, debating if he should ask his next question. "Any mate updates? Seeing as you are the Alpha's sister there must be a few lined up, but also knowing Zyl he probably would be very picky on who you go with."
Harlow had a childish smile and hugged Zyl's arm tightly. "I do always love going on rides." The wind in her hair and his soft fur always felt nice. It brought her back to their childhood, since they didn't do it often these days. I can't believe we are together! It was like a dream come true for her.
“Line Of suitors? I’m the alpha’s sister, not a princess. For the little males that have come looking to seek a relationship, I’ve turned them down as gently as possible. And yes, Zyl’s always protective, thats never going to change.” She ran a hand through her hair and looked over at him “how about you? You’ve been away from the pack, any mates or girlfriends?” She was curious of course, since now the topic came up.
He grinned and nodded, shifting when they got outside. He crouched down to let climb on and shook out his fur with a low whine.
Conner chuckled at the question, of course no one has asked him this before, so it was a tad uncomfortable. "No, I'm not one girls are much interested in, Zyl is definitely the more popular type." Conner couldn't even get the girl he has been in love with for years to choose him. "So no, no one has had much interest… even if I am an Alpha." There was a bit of sadness in his voice, but he tried to push the thought back. Conner was never lucky with girls, though he knew someday, even if they didn't love each other, that he would have to choose a mate so that he could have a child to take his place. "So… why haven't you chosen anyone? No one peak your interest?"
Harlow's smile only got brighter has she hopped onto Zyl's back. She missed this. Just them and no one else, that's how it felt in the moment. "Zyl… I love you." She laid down and hugged around his neck. There was no one else she rather be with.
Val snorted a laugh when conner mentioned her brother being 'the more popular one' "You should have seen him in his teen years. He was all dark and brooding, hell, a few times we mistook him for a lone-wolf with how angry and depressed he looked. Of course he changed but females don't exactly file outside his door jut to get some, if you know what i mean. The only one who really came by was Harlow and Missy." Val was saddened to hear that Conner hadn't found anyone to love, even if it wasn't someone he'd spend his life with. She gently touched his arm "hey, you'll find someone, whether he or her or them, you'll love someone so deeply that it'll both hurt and overwhelm with joy at the same time. She smiled softly and drew her hand back "A few males here and there but none that truly stuck around long enough to actually know me. i still keep contact with some but most of them choose to ignore me." She shrugged as if it didn't sting and maintained her bouncy walk. "Most I think just wanted me for my position as the Alpha's sister, some just wanted a one-night stand. I'm not for any of that so we split ways. I'm sure they found someone suitable for their needs. As for me, I enjoy the freedom, I just hope I get to share that freedom with someone else someday, ya know?"
Zyl let out a soft bark and tilted his head back to nudge Harlows. once he made sure she wasn't going to fall off, he started into a trot before pacing out into a light run, his movements fluid and airy, his boy shifting with hers, trying to keep her as comfortable and jostle free as he weaved his way through the forest.
"Ah yes, I do remember Zyl during those days, though I left pretty early, so I didn't get to see all of it." Conner felt like him and Val were very much alike, though she knew what she wanted a bit more than he did. Taking his hand he set it on top of Val's head. "Well… that's their loss." He gave her a smile and continued walking.
Harlow couldn't wait to see some of the pack again, it had been so long that she figured they probably forgot about her. She knew some of them didn't approve of her, but she was hoping to change their minds. It was rare for a human to be leading a pack along side a Alpha, but she decided to for her best.
She laughed softly “I’ll have to show you some pictures mom took. The poor thing looked like a disheveled rat.” She flicked her gaze to conner’s when he placed his hand on her head, finding it a bit of an odd gesture yet comforting at the same time. She leaned into his hand slightly and looked away. “Yeah..maybe.”
Zyl slowled to a stop when they reached a small clearing, surrounded by rock cliffs and moss. He crouched down to let Harlow off and walked over to what seemed to e be a moss wall. He nudged through and disappeared behind it into another clearing.
(I totally forgot what Val and Conner were doing.)
(I think she was just showing him around the territory and where they could do the meeting)
After that conversation Conner had no idea what to talk about, it wasn't like him and Val were all that close. So he just followed close behind looking at Zyl's territory. It was beautiful. He couldn't wait till their packs, well… made a packet.
Harlow hoped off and was surprised to see Zyl walk through a moss wall. Though it was a bit confusing she went through anyway making sure to stick close so she wouldn't lose her way. It seemed dark at first, which she thought was weird but then it quickly got bright and they were in a whole different clearing.
(Sorry, I got super busy with wedding things.)
(it's okay! congrats to whoever getting married!)
"this is probably where we'll have the meeting," Val explained, gesturing to a large clearing they had come up to. "you two will be up there." she pointed to a cliff that was hanging over the clearing, low enough for a voice to be heard, high enough so the voice carried over throughout the area.
Zyl gently nudged her hand with his nose and guided her around to the center of the clearing. a white female poked her head out and tilted her head curiously. Zyl walked over and nudged her head, coaxing her out of er home along with her pups. Shifting, zyl gestured for Harlow to sit beside him
"Harlow, this is my cousin Lilly and her three pups. Asterix should be back from hunting soon so he'll join us.
Lilly shifted into a gorgeous white haired female and sat across from Val, moving her hands in sign language. Zyl nodded and translated "she remembers you from when we were younger. She was the one who used to join you and Val on tours around the territory."
Conner looked to where Val pointed and nodded. He was a bit nervous, since he hadn't seen his pack in awhile and now that he's back, he's suddenly Alpha. It was a lot to take in, what no one knew was… Conner was only half werewolf and he couldn't fully shift. The closest thing he can do is ears a tail and teeth. His mother stayed back. He wondered if his pack would accept a half breed alpha like him.
"It's nice to see you again." Harlow smiled and sat down. It was hard for her to remember anyone but Val, Conner and Zyl from her childhood, but she tried her best to remember. "You have beautiful children." It was a bit awkward since Harlow hadn't been around Zyl's pack much, but Lilly seemed cool.
Val glanced over, sensing his discomfort “Hey, you’ll do great. They’ll get used to it.” She reassured. “Wanna head up to see what it’s like with out a crowd?” She asked, pointing to the cliff.
Lily signed thank you and looked adoringly at her children playing around them. Three young pups, a white pup like his mother, and two grey females. The male climbed up on Zyl and started swatting at his hair. Zyl laughed ruffled the pups fur, letting him paw at him while. The two males sniffed at Harlow cautiously before barking playfully and crouching
