Tyler held her close against his chest, suddenly wary of all the other people in the room.
Macha squeezed her eyes shut. You’re so weak and useless.. she told herself. You could’ve just stepped away..
No you aren’t. He replied sincerely. You're the strongest person I know.
Macha blinked, not realizing that he’d been able to hear that. I could have just pushed him away…. thank you so much.
I know you can deal with things by yourself but I wanted to help. That doesn’t mean you aren’t strong.
Macha shrugged, still unstable. “How— how drunk are you right now?”
"Not that bad.." He laughed, hugging her from behind and burying his face in her shoulder.
Macha laughed weakly, wrapping her arms around his, which were clinging to her waist. She caught sight of the guy who had touched her, glaring at the both of them, and raised a very shaky hand to flip him off.
Tyler laughed and did the same. "I love you." He said quietly, turning her around and hugging her.
“I love you too…” Macha indicated hesitantly towards the dance floor. “Will you dance with me?”
"I would love to dance with you!" He smiled happily down at her, lacing her fingers in between his.
Macha kissed him softly and led him to the dance floor, her feet moving along to the music. A blissfully happy smile began to make its way into her face, clearing away the residual fear.
Tyler grinned happily down at her, pulling her close and kissing the top of her head.
Macha’s heart pattered helplessly, filling with affection. She slung her arms around his neck, swaying along to the music.
Tyler felt her affection rushing into him and filling him up, running a gentle hand through her hair.
Butterflies filled Macha’s stomach as jf it was their first time together again. She took a step back and shook out her shoulders, dancing along to the song.
Tyler laughed. "You're an amazing dancer! How come I didn't know about this?"
Macha bit her lip bashfully, staring down at the floor. “I’m not that good…”
"Yes you are!" He exclaimed, twirling her around and pulling her back against his chest.
Macha half laughed, half yelped in surprise, landing with a thump against his chest.
Tyler chuckled and continued dancing with her happily.
The song changed to Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody', which prompted Macha to swing her hips slightly and sing along, laughing.
Tyler laughed and danced with her, enjoying how carefree she seemed.
After a few songs, Macha’s stomach began to grumble. She tugged Tyler towards the food table.
“We could always go out if you want.” He suggested, letting her pull him.
“We’re here now, might as well take advantage of the free food.” Macha gently lay Tyler’s hand on her waist, leaning into him as she loaded two plates with party food. “Want a samosa?”
“No thanks.” He gratefully took the food and went to sit down with her once more.
They sat at the edge of the party room, eating slowly and taking everything in. Macha's nerves had dissipated by now, rather, she felt a strong sense of security. "How much wine did you have?"
