"It's Kathleen's!" He whispered, picking it up.
Time After Time (One on One) {OPEN}
"It's thinner than the other one. Is this the…which chromosome set is this?" She asked, pausing her shifting through the other tools and turning to him.
Eric shrugged. "I have no clue. XX?"
"Yeah." She nodded. "The x chromosome is the one girls get, which…it's pink. It's hers."
"Like her aura." He said, nodding.
"Yeah. Whatever…that thing. Yeah." She stumbled over her words a little.
"…We're sneaking it out, aren't we?" He asked, smiling.
"Of course we are," She mumbled with a small smile, shutting the case and holding it by her side. "Let's hope no one's on the job today."
Eric nodded, heading to the door and peeking out. "Looks clear!"
"Cool." She grabbed his hand and pulled him out, shutting the door behind them and heading for the exit.
Eric trailed after her, looking back every now and then.
Thankfully, the two reached the door without any complications, and Lulu pulled Eric back to the Jeep in a hurry, unlocking it.
Eric jumped in. "We did it!"
"Yes we did. I still feel a little nervous," She admitted, starting the engine quickly. "Like they're gonna follow us."
"Let's hope they don't." He said, glancing back.
"I often trust my gut," She mumbled in a small, but almost angry, voice, pulling them out of the parking lot and onto the road.
Eric smiled, humming along to the radio.
There was a loud banging noise then - it sounded almost like a gunshot - and Lulu swore loudly, swevering right so as not to hit a section of the road where a glint of metal and what seemed almost like the aftermath of a small explosion.
"What the fuck was that?!" He asked, looking back.
"Either a grenade or a gun," She replied, gritting her teeth and pressing on the gas, wavy black hair falling into her face as she pressed on the gas.
Eric grabbed the 'Oh Shit' bar, hanging on for dear life. "Okay, so they found us."
((mood))
"No dip they did," She grumbled, turning onto a street just as empty as the other. "I need a highway."
"I think there's an exit in about three miles!" He said, looking back to try and figure out where they were.
"Tight," Lulu grumbled quietly, then went to swore loudly as there was another ping sound, and a couple more sounds of things whizzing by the Jeep. "Must've hit the car."
"Shit." He muttered. "Well, it could be worst- they could be hitting us."
"Yeah, yeah, but my mom's gonna ask about it!" She nearly yelled, swerving to avoid another string of fire before turning onto the nearest exit, going up a ramp to a highway.
"Where the hell are they getting this shit?" He asked, watching the car follow them.
"Probably from a gun store," She replied, slowing the car and merging into a lane. "They can't shoot here, but they'll probably follow us wherever we go."
"Might as well try to loose 'em while we can?" He suggested.
She shook her head. "Never gonna happen. They probably have drones or some other crap," She admitted, huffing and tucking a black strand of hair behind her ear, the sun shining through the windshield on her light brown skin.
