“I have stuff to do. Call Alex or something.” Alto replied.

Halo whines again and pouts softly as he sits on his bed.
"Y'know Halo, i'm not going to be around forever.." Alto commented quietly as he worked.
Halo looks up. "What do you mean?" He asks softly, sitting up slowly.
"We won't live together for the rest of our lives. You'll probably find someone, get married, move away… I might find someone.." He said quietly, not looking at Halo.
Halo takes his hand gently. "We're still brothers. Still family." He whispers.
“I know. I’m just saying..” Alto squeezed his hand.
Halo sighs softly. "Let's… Let's not think about it…"
“I just don’t..never mind..”
Halo looks down and sighs softly, fumbling with his fingers. His happy mood had been diminished. Did Alto want to get away from Halo? Was he to much of a burden. He turns away from his brother, trying not to cry.
Alto realized that what he just said sounded horrible. He reached over and squeezed Halo's arm gently. "I'm sorry..I didn't mean…"
Halo says nothing, just curls in on himself. He bites his lip. "It doesn't matter." He says quietly.
"Yes it does…I'm sorry Halo.." He said softly, looking down.
Halo nods slowly, keeping quiet. It still hurt, but he forgave his brother.
Alto fell silent, feeling horrible.
Halo turns towards Alto, taking his hand gently, resting his head on the pillow. He kisses Alto's hand softly. "I'm sorry… For everything." He whispers.
"Don't be sorry.." Alto said quietly, still not looking at him.
Halo sighs, still holding his hand.
"I should be.." He added in a whisper.
Halo looks at him. "Why?"
"For leaving you so many times.."
Halo tilts his head. "You didn't." He says softly, trying to assure his brother.
“Well I was a bad brother…”
Halo shakes his head. "You're not a a bad brother."
“I..I should be there for you more..”
"You're not." He says gently.
"W-what?" Alto looked up at him.
"You're not always there… That's true. But when ever I need you most, you're always by my side." He whispers, squeezing his hand.
Alto nodded, staying silent. He squeezed his hand back and looked back down.
Halo smiles. "I can't ask for a better brother."
