Shade shrugs. "I dunno. As I said earlier, I kinda just… made my own door."

To prove this, she goes to a spot, then steps through. She reappears a moment later, carrying an armfull of dry twigs.

Brucie's eyes widened. "We need to figure out what kind of being you are, pumpkin…"

Shade snorts. "No shit, Brucie."

She sighs, then quickly builds a fire, lighting it with a burst of fire magic. I seem to be a natural at controlling magic, which is concerning. she tells Farah.

Farah reached out and gripped Shade's wrist. "You need to stop using my magic," she muttered. "No more. Not until I've taught you how to use it without consequences, do you understand?"

Shade looks over. "I know what I'm doing."

She turns back to the fire, watching scenes from her past play out: her being tossed into the gutter by a group of boys, being beaten, begging for the release of death. She drifts into her memories, brooding. Unconsciously, her fingers move and weave a small tapestry in the air.

"I don't care," Farah objected. "I need to see what you know. Teach you the right things…" She trailed off her words, noting the magic Shade was using.

Shade snaps back to reality, then sees what she'd made: her city burning, her being spirited away by explosions of plants. She stifles a sob, and tears it out of the air, burying her head in her hands.

"Oh, gods… Shade…" Farah murmured, pulling the girl to her chest and rubbing her back gently.

Shade continues stifling sobs, not wanting to break down again. Not wanting anybody, Farah especially, to see the broken girl that was saved by the forest. Eventually, she calms down enough to speak.

"I have the knowledge and instinct required. Since birth, I have had the skill. That fire was…" her voice breaks slightly. "I didn't know. How could I have known?"

Farah shook her head. "You couldn't have. Fire is the most powerful of all the magic – when it's controlled, that is. Wild fire is dangerous, and it should be handled as such."

Shade sighs. "I know. I learned that lesson awhile ago. I gained part of your power, yes, but I also gained some more control. I can do stuff now I never used to be able to do."

She demonstrates her point by wrapping herself in a fire that would not harm her allies, then extinguishing the fire shroud.

"I never could've done that before." she mumurs.

"Don't test it," Farah pleaded with her. "Some control is natural, yes, but most must be learned. And with my abilities, especially channeling fire magic, you need a lot more practiced control."

Shade sighs. "What can I do to convince you that I can do this?"

An idea strikes her, and she laughs, transforming in an instant to be more like the old Shade. "Actually… we never finished our fight."

"No, we never did." Farah leaned in, exhaling on Shade's lips temptingly.

"Geez, you two!" Brucie teased. "Get a room! There are children present!" She put her hands over Migina's eyes, and the younger spirit giggled.

Shade gets up, laughing. "Let's find a mountain or something. Less chances of starting a fire."

"Not if you know how to control fire~" Farah murmured with a smirk.

Shade laughs. "Oh, now you've done it."

She leaps at Farah, tossing her in the with a call to the largest nearby flying animal, and quickly an answering roar rips through the forest, and Shade laughs. Soon enough, a full grown dragon catches Farah and Shade and takes off to the mountins.

"WOOHOO!" Shade shouts, smirking at Farah.

Farah's eyes were wide, but she was laughing. "What about Saul?" she called over the wind.

I get the feeling he wants to be left alone for now. And he has Migina and Brucie. Shade calls back.

They reach the mountains quickly, and Shade pulls Farah off the dragon, naming him. The dragon rumbles and purrs, then takes off.

Shade turns to Farah, a mischevious gleam in her eyes. She creates a lasso of wind to hook Farah off her feet.

"Aww, you want to sweep me off my feet," Farah cooed and dispelled the wind.

Shade chuckles. "Sure, let's go with that."

She flips over Farah, landing and pulsing out a blast of kinetic energy that was entirely her own.

Farah dodged the blast and made the earth tremble to throw Shade off balance.

Shade stumbles, but finds her footing, chuckling. "The only thing I've fallen for is you, Farah!"

She throws a fireball at the faerie, at the same time bending the light to make herself invisible.

Farah rolled her eyes. So cheesy. She blasted the water with fire, causing a cloud of steam to form around them.

Shade giggles slightly. I know! That's entirely the point.

She simply thickens the mist into a substance like gel, while still giving herself her full range of motion. She catapults over Farah, then lands behind her. Thanks for the mist, dear.

She then swings a punch at Farah.

Hearing Shade's weight land behind her, Farah ducked just in time. She whirled around and curled her fingers. The wind began to shape the mist into a whirling wall around them. She tilted her head and smirked. You're welcome.

Shade watches the wall for a single moment, then grins, tossing a small ball into the air, bright as the sun, burning away the mist. Her form was still invisible, and she knew she could use this. Moving quickly, she starts setting up a trap.

(I'm going to be completely honest… I have no fucking clue what that means)

(Fair enough… here: While Euclidean geometry seeks to understand the geometry of flat, two-dimensional spaces, non-Euclidean geometry studies curved, rather than flat, surfaces. Although Euclidean geometry is useful in many fields, in some cases, non-Euclidean geometry may be more useful. Directly from Study.com.)

(… I think I got it?)

Farah stumbled at the sudden change. What the hell did you just do?
