He shrugged. "It'll give us something to do."

"Il y a tellement de choses à apprendre!" She said happily, accent thickening.

He dropped his jaw. "Um…..?"

She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Do not worry, cher. I will have you speaking at least a little French in no time."

"Anything I should know first?" he asked, looking down at her since she was resting her head on his shoulder.

"Articles are incredibly important in their usage. The wrong one can cause you to say any number of things you should not say." She said, then paused to think. "Accent, too. Skip two thirds of the vowels. That's already half an accent."

He tilted his head, already lost. "Uh…huh."

She sighed. "Voir? La moitié des voyelles." She said as example for what she meant, regarding the vowels.

"Oh." He grinned sheepishly. "Now I get it."

"You are already a step in the right direction." She said with a supportive smile.

"Still don't have a clue what you said," he responded, returning the smile

"I could say anything to you, and you would have no clue what I am saying." She said, smile turning a bit mischievous. "Vous avez un cul fantastique."

"I heard something in there that sounded like fantastic. Other than that…" he shrugged to punctuate the sentence.

"Fantastique. It does in fact mean fantastic." She said with a small laugh.

"Ha! I'm learning something," he said with a smile.

"Indeed. You might pick up curses and angry phrases faster than normal vocabulary though…" She said, chuckling. "I have a tendency to swear, in French, when I am angry. As made obvious both today and yesterday."

"Yes, you did yell a lot. As did I." He smiled, but it had a slightly bitter twinge to it.

"You were defending your family, Eli. Focus on more happy things for now." She said softly, gently squeezing his hand.

"I just wish they -Emma and Jaiden- didn't have to see it." He frowned. "They loved Lia."

"She-I do not honestly think she meant that as much as it seemed she did." She admitted quietly. "Although, that really was no excuse, at all."

He shook his head. "I don't think I can ever talk to her again," he said softly.

"You do not have to, if you wish not to." She said with a sad smile. "When you need a babysitter, just call. Either Renee, or I, would be happy to help."

"Since I'm gonna be working for you, seems like Renee will have her hands full," he said. "I love them, but goodness."

"You underestimate her power. I have never seen a woman get seven screaming kids to quiet down so quick." She said, awe evident in her for.

"Let's hope her magic works on my little ones," he said with a grin.

"It is highly unlikely it wouldn't." She returned a smile.

"Is there anything you want to do today?" He asked. "Seems like we've been lounging around a lot lately."

"You said you cannot swim….so what if we go to an aquarium?" She raised an eyebrow..

His eyes brightened slightly. "The girls would love that."
