"C'mon, Davina. You're not gonna want to get up then, either." Apollo told her softly, scooting back into the tent. Gently he started playing with her hair, in attempt to get her up. "You need to eat something before it gets too much later. I don't want you to feel sick because you didn't eat." He continued to speak in soft tones, twisting a strand of her hair around his finger loosely.
"We'll go on an adventure, when we escape these prison walls!" (Closed)
She groaned in response, burying her head into the pillow as one final act of defiance. Sleep actually sounded good, and yet this was the one time she couldn't sleep, or at least couldn't sleep without Apollo pestering her to get up. "Can't you just save me something for later?" She asked gently, finally rolling onto her side so she could look up at him with sleepy eyes.
Apollo let out a weak sigh, and stopped trying to get her up. "You have to eat, alright? If not now, in a little bit. I don't want you hurting yourself." He stated gently. Getting up from his place on the floor, he slowly made his way to get his own food. His body was feeling really sore right now— whether that was from sleeping on the floor, or him being sick, he wasn't really sure. Eventually he had brought his food under the tent, and quietly ate.
Davina nodded and gently laid her head back on her pillow, sighing for a moment as she fought over the decision of food or sleep. Sleep was winning too…or at least it was until Apollow brought his own plate of food in. Then she just sighed again and tugged off her blanket, crawling out of the tent silently and grabbing her tray of food. Sleep could wait until later. Her final verdict as she sat back down under the blanket tent and started to eat as well.
When Davina got up, Apollo couldn't help but smirk some. It was definitely out of character, but he was too tired to be his regular old self. He tried to hide the sly smirk as she crawled back under, but couldn't seem to make himself for whatever reason. He was surprised he had convinced her to get up, but wasn't going to question it. As long as she was eating. Quietly he ate, letting his mind wander a bit— thoughts drifting towards what had happened a little while ago. Slowly the reality of the situation started settling in, his stomach fluttering a bit. "Hey… Davina? Can— can I ask you something?"
She was silent as she ate, or more accurately, picked out the good parts of the meal and ate them. Davina stubbornly wrapped up in her blanket again though, only glancing up when he spoke. "Sure, what is it?" She replied, setting aside the rest of the food that she didn't want from the lousey meal. If anything Apollo could be happy she ate any of it, that was impressive itself right after waking up.
"Um, well, it's about earlier… I- um…" Apollo let out a soft sigh, setting his own food aside. He glanced up at her, trying to keep himself from fidgeting too badly. But to no avail. He started picking at his shirt with a soft sigh. "I- well… did it bother you?" Apollo mumbled, flicking his gaze back to the floor. For whatever reason, he felt embarrassed to be talking to her about it. Though he didn't want to let it go un-talked about.
"It didn't bother me…did it bother you?" Davina replied softly, her cheeks almost immediately flushing an impressive shade of pink, "Because if it did..I'm really sorry. You could've just pushed me away, I don't want to make you uncomfortable." She really hadn't minded earlier, in fact, she had actually liked being snuggled up to someone. But she also knew that it wasn't right to make him uncomfortable if he didn;t like it.
((I swear I responded to this…))
"I- um… no, not really. I just- I wasn't thinking when it happened. And, well y'know, I didn't want you to have been really uncomfortable. In case it happened again or something." He shrugged, fidgeting with his sleeves. "And I was kinda the one to start cuddling you. I woke up, and you seemed… I dunno, off in your sleep, I guess. I was still pretty tired when it happened, so I don't really know what I was thinking…" He continued to mumble, averting his eyes as he was not able to keep eye contact without flushing.
(I get that, no worries)
"Apollo," Davina stated, a gentle smile on her face accompanying the red flush, "Hey, I didn't mind it. I…I liked cuddling with you…as long as you weren't uncomfortable." She didn't meet his eyes when he looked away, but she did try to keep her focus on him, even as her blush grew deeper, "I dunno what I'm saying…but I felt safe when I was laying with you, I felt like someone was there for me…even if you weren't doing more than just letting me lay there."
Quietly he looked up at her, steadily relaxing. Her words definitely reassured him— though his face was still pretty red. Giving her a half smile, he fidgeted with his sleeves a bit. "Right, okay… I- you're sure?" He asked gently, glancing up at her. "I know I keep asking, and I'm sorry, but I just… I want to make sure." Apollo was mumbling as he fidgeted in place.
"I promise." Her words were gentle and soft, especially as she reached out and hesitantly rested a hand on his shoulder, "Though I want to know what you thought…the last thing I ever want to do is make you uncomfortable." Davina's words were thought through and calm, but still, she was more than flustered with her cheeks and ears an impressive shade of red. She smiled, hoping she looked calmer than she nervously felt.
(boop?)
(Oh- hey, sorry…)
"Um, well… I don't really exactly know." Apollo mumbled, doing his best to not make eye contact. He was doing everything he could to not stare at her and her pretty face. And her captivating eyes. And her sweet smile… "No! Stop thinking like that! Get your head out of the clouds." Scolding himself, he shook his head, assuming it would clear his thoughts. "I mean, I guess I didn't mind. It didn't really bother me. Not really. Um, yeah… it's kinda nice being close to another person, y'know?" He mumbled, not realizing he had basically repeated what she had said. "I just- I guess since I'm younger than you, I was worried it would bug you…"
She shook her head, scooting a little closer to him as she replied, fully aware of the impressive blush on both of their cheeks, "It doesn't bother me at all. You're more mature than half of the guys I've met that are my age or older. Plus, you're funny and caring, and really cute." Davina slowly slipped her hand off of his shoulder, looking down at her hands and picking at her nails as she mumured, "I guess…I mean…I'm trying to say that…I like you. I know you probably don't like older girls…but it is what it is…I had to get that off my chest." She didn't dare look back up, worried that he had heard her confession, just sat there, wanting to disappear to get away from the embarrassment she felt for actually saying what she thought of him.
Apollo was fidgeting with his hands quite a lot, peering up at her with a little hint of a smile. "You mean it?" He asked softly to her first statement, his voice trailing off as she kept talking. "I like you." Those were words he wasn't expecting— not even a little bit. So to hear them, a completely baffled look fell over his face. He blinked a couple of times, mouth gaping some. But slowly his look of surprise melted away, leaving a bright grin in its place. "You're serious? Like- you actually mean that? You- you like me?" He whispered, his heart leaping in his chest. "Please tell me you're not joking."
(Happy late holidays!)
"Yes, I mean it," She murmured, cheeks flushed an impressive shade of red, "I like you, and I'm not joking about it. I mean…I understand if you don't feel the same. You don't have to lie to me if you don't….I just had to get it off of my chest." Davina still didn't dare look at him as she talked, finally glancing up at him seconds later. Gently, she pulled on a soft smile, bracing her for the worst news and the rejection she figured would come. There was no way someone this amazing could like her after all. Even if she liked him.
(Yes happy belated holidays! And Happy New Year!)
"But I wouldn't be lying," Apollo hummed, his smile only growing brighter. He scooted closer over to her, gently taking her hands in his. "I'd only be lying if I said that I didn't." He insisted, eyes bright with excitement. His heart pounded in his chest as he stared at her face, taking in all of her features. Her eyes, and her hair, and just… all of her. How could she like him? In all honesty, he felt unworthy of it. A child-like excitement kept building as he sat there, clearly growing giddy. "I- I honestly mean it. I really do like you, and um… I can't honestly believe it."
Instant relief washed over her as she listened to Apollo speak, shocked by the idea that he liked her back, but fully ready to embrace it. "You…like me back," She replied in a soft voice, her smile appearing as she met his eyes, "I hope this isn't a dream." Squeezing his hands, she felt her happiness soar as she finally grasped the idea of him actually liking her back. It was more than a dream come true, and she was sure her excitement was visible in her growing smile.
Apollo grinned back, face flushing some as she gave his hand a gentle squeeze. “I do like you, and I don’t think this is a dream. I mean- if it is, we just have to wake up and tell each other, right?” He asked softly, tipping his down to the floor. His curls fell back in his face as he grinned, hiding the flush rising to his cheeks. “Though I guess that means there’s a chance we don’t like each other back… but I doubt it. I- I mean it feels pretty real, and um…” Quietly Apollo rambled on, the giddiness rising in his chest, displaying in his words.
"Even if this is a dream, I'm sure I'd still like you," She assured him quietly, squeezing his hand and smiling, "This has to be real, I don't think we're dreaming." Davina knew her face was still bright red, but she knew it was fading as she became more comfortable with the idea of him actually liking her. It was going to take a while for her to actually wrap her mind fully around that fact, but for now, she was just relieved that he both hadn't made fun of her and instead actually liked her as well.
(I'm so sorry that I keep disappearing, I promise I will try to be better about responding)
"Mm, I agree. I mean, it feels really real. And the fact we were just talking about something that just happened kinda makes me believe it's real." Apollo mumbled, laying back on the floor with a steady sigh. His eyes lit up some as he glanced over to her, his cheeks still glowing a soft pink. "It feels really good to get that off my chest. Like, I don't have to worry anymore." He hummed, hesitantly reaching out a hand to hold onto one of hers. "Now I know… and, well it feels great. I just can't get over it- and yeah, I know you said it just a minute ago, but still… I really need to stop rambling. I- um, I'll be quiet now."
(It's ok, I'm getting swamped in school so I'm quite inactive these days too)
She couldn't seem to shake her smile off of her face, looking over at him. Gently, she squeezed his hand, humming softly, "I get what you mean..I've been holding that in for way too long." It still felt like a dream to her, the idea that Apollo still liked her back and he wasn't just joking. She went quiet for a moment, then asked, her cheeks turning a bright pink color, "Is it weird to ask if I can nap next to you again after all of this? I mean, I get it if it's weird now..but it's comfy. I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything…"
Apollo looked up at her, his smile only growing as the flush on his face came back. "I'm fine with it, you don't really even need to ask. I'm comfortable too." He chuckled, seeming to grow more relaxed the more they talked to each other. He kept a firm hold on her hand as they laid there, the giddy look on his face remaining as he studied her face. "I mean, it's nice to get to be near someone. It's been too long without people… I kinda need that warmth you know?" He asked softly, resting his head on her shoulder.
Davina hesitantly snuggled up next to him as she got permission, nervous but almost sinking against him. It felt perfect to be next to him, and when he laid his head on her shoulder, she was sure this was all a dream. Gently, she smiled and nodded, wrapping her free arm around him as she settled in further, eyes fluttering closed. "I miss being able to just…hug someone, or even just snuggle up with someone like this…I miss it." It would be a while before she really fell asleep, but at least she was comfortable like this, and it gave her a chance to sort out her feelings.
(Hey, I just wanted to apologize for my lack of responses. It’s been a really busy week, and still going to be busier until about March. I probably won’t respond much for the rest of the week.)
(Hey no problem, I’m going into an extremely busy part of the year too, so my responses are going to be sporadic. Take all the time you need)
(Again, I want to apologize for being so busy. Motivation has been at an all-time low,,, thank you for being so understanding about it)
"Well, I'm always up for a hug. It's nice to have someone you can just… be affectionate to. Y'know?" He hummed a bit, his thoughts trailing as he spoke to her. He was so out of it, that he wasn't even thinking about the fact he had a girl basically wrapped around him. His brother would tease him immensely if he could see him now. All the while with good intentions behind it. He wasn't that mean to him at least. "A lot of people don't seem to like it, so to know someone does, is just a really good feeling."
(I totally get it no problem, I'm working through a major bout of writers block myself so I totally get it)
"I get that…" She hummed softly, nodding halfheartedly. She was more than comfortable with him, and it was growing much harder to fight the feelings of comfort and the whispers of more sleep that her weak body craved. It wouldn't be good for any of the nurses to find them like this, but she was so tired, and it felt so good to be laying with him. Davina nuzzled her face against him and let out a soft sigh, "If you ever want to…I'm always up for hugs too…they make me feel safe, and they pull me back together in a sense."
(Glad I'm not the only one aha, but now that school is almost done, I'm about to have a lot more motivation and freedom haha.)
"Well then it looks like hugs are in order." Apollo chuckled, resting his head on hers for a bit. As the silence remained, he felt the heavy pull of sleep on him. He was practically out within five minutes of laying there, brain going numb as he tried to form words to talk with her. But the tiredness was too strong, and he was already weak as is. How badly he needed sleep, to try to heal, but he didn't want it. He wanted to talk to her for hours, and was making the argument he didn't need more sleep because he had just slept. "Mm… we need to clean up..?" He asked softly, not making an attempt to move.
