Larkin nodded eagerly, seeming to have brightened from the somber conversation from only a few minutes prior.

Samul hummed.
"Perfect!" He grinned.
Larkin quickly finished his food and cuddled up with Samul, seeming to be comfortable and content for now.

Samul was still eating, not near as fast as Larkin. When he finished, he sat back, arms going around Larkin's waist. He kissed his boyfriend lightly. He'd need to leave soon, but he didn't say a word.
"I love you…" Larkin murmured, his tail wagging weakly. "I really wish you didn't have to go…"

"I love you too," Samul said. "And I'll be back soon. Don't forget, you need to pack for our little evening trip." Samul smiled softly, kissing Larkin again.
"I will, I will… you gotta tell me what I need, though. I have no idea where we're going." Larkin laughed weakly.

Samul chuckled softly.
"Well," he said. "You'll need our swim trunks." He winked just a bit.
"And anything else you think we might need along those lines."
"Ooh~" Larkin grinned and nuzzled against Samul again. "I think my trunks are long enough to hide my tail… what about the ears, though?"

Samul thought a long moment.
"Well, we could use a cap, say it's to keep you from getting sun burnt on your head," he offered.
"I guess… or just like, a normal hat, I guess." Larkin shrugged a bit. "I'll figure something out."

Samul nodded, kissing Larkin's cheek again.
"Okay then. I need to go to work, now. I'll be back soon though." Samul smiled softly, standing and setting Larkin down. He still needed to get dressed, after all.
Larkin whined softly and pouted when Samul left him. "OKay… be back as soon as you can, okay?"

"I will." Samul offered a smile, running his fingers through Larkin's hair. He went to the bedroom to get dressed, getting his uniform on. He straightened the shirt up a bit, grabbing his bag.
"I'll be back soon!" He promised, moving to the door.
"Okay…" Larkin headed into the bedroom and got dressed. He packed up a bag with things he thought he'd need for the trip and curled up on the bed to wait for Samul to return.

Samul was gone for at least two hours, working hard to earn enough to support himself and his family. He did it with a smile, bussing tables. He ran his fingers through his hair when he was done, driving back home. He smiled softly, his keys jingling as he unlocked the door.
"Hey Larkin, are you ready to go?" He called out.
"Samul!" Larkin jumped up when he heard his boyfriend's voice and hugged him tightly. He was already wearing a baseball cap, which concealed his ears well enough. "Yeah, I'm ready! Are you?" He asked.

Samul grinned, hugging Larkin tightly in turn.
"Yes, I packed my own bag earlier." Samul smiled, kissing Larkin.
"Alright, let's get going, then!" Larkin grinned brightly and towed Samul towards the door so they could leave.

Samul laughed a bit, kissing Larkin's cheek as they headed out.
"We're going to have to drive," he said, smiling as he took his turn to pull Larkin towards his car.
"Mmkay!" Larkin got into the passenger side and settled his bag on the floor next to his feet.

Samul started the car, humming softly as he started off.
"Any guesses where we're going?"
"Mm… somewhere with water, probably!" Larkin grinned brightly. "The beach maybe?"

Samul hummed a bit, smiling.
"Beach, huh? What kind do you think it is?"
"Uhm… probably not a nude beach since that makes it impossible to hide the ears and tail?" Larkin laughed softly. "I guess it could be fun, though…"

Samul snorted a bit.
"Nono, no nudity beaches!" He said with a laugh. "We'd need a private one to do that, and we couldn't afford to rent one, and I don't have any friends that rich." He smiled at Larkin.
"So… a non nudist beach!" Larkin chirped brightly in reply. "And… probably one at least relatively close to here."

Samul grinned.
"Ding ding ding!" He said, laughing a bit. "Correct! What do you think?"
Larkin grinned and kissed Samul's cheek. "Sounds great! What all can we do there?" He asked. "Can we get a pretzel?"

Samul chuckled softly. That was oddly specific.
"Yes, we can get a pretzel. We can also go swimming, and make sand castles, and there are other kinds of food too."
