Samul couldn't help but laugh at Larkin's tactics.
"Sweetie, you broke it!" Samul wiped tears from his eyes from his laughing, coming over to pick up the broken pieces to throw away so Larkin wouldn't get any plastic in his paws.

@Fraust

Larkin whined when Samul took the toy from him, trotting after him and sniffing in the trash for the pieces. He wailed loudly at Samul, spinning in circles and huffing.

group

"No, Larkin," Samul said, making sure he couldn't get in the trash. "It's broken, and I don't want you hurting yourself." Samul ran his fingers over Larkin's back.
"If you really want it, we can go buy a new one."

@Fraust

Larkin nodded and hopped around a bit, tossing his head back and wailing louder. He jumped up on Samul and pawed at him needily.

group

"Okay, okay love, I get it! I'll grab a leash and collar, and we'll go together, okay?" Samul kissed Larkin's head, ruffling his fur a bit.

@Fraust

Larkin waited impatiently by the door, shuffling around and continuing to whine. Although he couldn't speak, he was clearly trying to get Samul to hurry up.

group

Samul went to his room, grabbing the collar and leash. He came back out, kneeling down to put it around Larkin's neck.
"Ready to go?" He asked, leash in one hand as he opened the door.

@Fraust

Larkin darted out the door as soon as it opened, dragging Samul along with him as he ran. He clearly didn't know where he was going, but he enjoyed the open space.

group

"Hey! Larkin!" Samul barely managed to get the door shut behind him, doing his best to keep up.
"Larkin! You're going to wrong way!"

@Fraust

Larkin howled as he rounded the corner, still towing Samul along behind himself. He didn't really care that he was going the wrong way.

group

"Larkin! Larkin I swear if you don't stop right now I'm not going to give you a single treat!" Samul dug his heels in, doing his best not to run into anything.
"And I won't make anymore either!"

@Fraust

Larkin whined and skidded to a halt, stumbling a bit and falling over when he did so. He howled again, obviously upset.

group

Samul stumbled to a halt, almost tripping over Larkin.
"Come on," Samul said, lifting Larkin up as best he could with one arm. "When we get to the pet store I'll give you a treat, okay? But you have to stay with me, silly." Samul sighed, scratching Larkin's head.

@Fraust

Larkin huffed and reluctantly began trotting along at Samul's side instead of running ahead. He was panting hard and occasionally stopped to howl or whine.

group

Samul chuckled just faintly.
"We wouldn't have so far to go," he said, "If you hadn't run off. How about we go to a park next time? Then you could run around all you want."

@Fraust

Larkin barked gruffly in reply, tugging on the leash a bit as he walked. Samul was walking slower than he wanted him to.

group

"Larkin," Samul said, sighing a bit. "You know I'm not very athletic, you're lucky I'm able to go this fast after what you pulled." Samul chuckled a bit, reaching down to scratch Larkin's head.
"Look, it's just a few minutes away from here, promise."

@Fraust

Larkin whined loudly and reluctantly slowed his pace so he wasn't choking himself, but clearly wasn't happy about it.

group

Samul sighed a bit, ruffling Larkin's fur. He turned a corner, the pet store sign nice and big so anyone could see it.

@Fraust

Larkin ran towards it when he saw it and dragged Samul inside, barking excitedly at everyone and everything he saw.

group

"L-Larkin!" Samul said, trying to get the wolf to stop. "I can't give you your treat if I can't stop! Heel!" That last part was mostly because they were in public. The night was still young, so there were several other people in the store. Another dog started barking at Larkin, and a few people laughed a bit.

@Fraust

Larkin howled at the other dog before he turned to Samul and sat down, panting as he waited for his treat. Despite being small for a wolf, he was still larger than any other dog in the store and clearly looked like a wolf.

group

Samul knelt down, pulling a treat out for Larkin.
"You can't just go running around in here," he lectured, scratching behind Larkin's ears a bit.
"You're lucky they let in any leashed pet, but if you keep doing this they'll kick us out before we can get you a new toy." Samul scratched behind Larkin's ears, sighing.

@Fraust

Larkin snatched the treat out of Samul's hand and started dragging his boyfriend to the toy section. They'd been here enough times for him to know where it was, after all.

group

Samul chuckled a bit, going to the section.
"There, we're here now," he said with a smile. He looked around a bit, trying to find a replacement for the toy Larkin had broken.

@Fraust

Larkin sniffed around the toys, his tail wagging as he wandered around. He always loved to come here.

group

Samul smiled a bit, ruffling Larkin's fur again. He moved over to the enrichment toys, letting the leash dangle so Larkin had more room to move around. He hummed faintly, trying to find a simple one that could handle rough treatment.

@Fraust

Larkin howled loudly as he followed Samul, grabbing a toy similar to the one he'd broken. This one was made out of hard rubber, though, so it would be harder for him to break it.

group

Samul laughed a bit, reaching over to take the toy from Larkin.
"You like this one?" He asked, chuckling softly.

@Fraust

Larkin nodded and moved his head away from Samul when he tried to take the toy. He wanted to hold onto it.
