Nora was still sprawled out on the bed, sound asleep. However, she did wake up when she felt Rowan get up. It had gotten to the point where she found it hard to sleep without her. She yawned and rolled out of bed. The next few minutes are spent getting changed into clothes and taming her while blue curls. Once done with that, she set off to go find Rowan.
Rowan pounded into the punching bag. Each shake of the chain and sound of her hits drowned out the memories of yesterday. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, fueling her on. To anyone else she probably looked like a monster, glaring and punching. But to Rowan it was only herself and her fists.
Nora paused at the entrance to the gym. "Rowan!" She called out as she cautiously approached the other woman. This concerned her deeply. People only get like this when they're really really upset about something. She had it in her mind to beat the hell out of whoever did this.
Nora flinched when she saw Rowan get smacked by the punching bag and then flop on the floor. "Shit, are you are?" She asked as she extended her hand to help her up. "What happened? You aren't usually so mean to the punching bags."
"Let's go to the kitchen and I can make you some tea or something." She reaches out and took ahold of her hands. "I might even be able to steal some cookies."
Nora ignored her protests and dragged her along to the kitchen. "Just hush and let me take care of you." She gestured for Rowan to go sit down.
Nora didn't bother responding to that. She entered the kitchen and fixed a cup of mint tea before raiding the cabinets until she finds the jar of cookies that had been hidden.
Nora set the tea and cookies down in front of Rowan before she sat down next to her. "Do you want to talk about it? Do you want me to beat someone up for you?" It surprised her how much she'd be willing to do for Rowan. She usually doesn't care this much about another person.
Rowan put her hands around her mug. “It’s no big deal. People were just being stupid.” She smiled. “And I think I proved I’m capable of beating people up myself.” Her face became serious again. “But really, it wasn’t that big of a deal. It was just a stupid day, dealing with stupid people. We’ve all had those.”
“It is a big deal. They upset you so now they have to suffer my wraith. That’s just how these things work. I know you can take care of yourself but I’ll feel much better once I get to beat them up as well,” Nora insists, not letting this go. She picked up a cookie and took a big bite.
Nora munched on her cookie and she quickly finished it. She sighed and met Rowan’s gaze. “Fine, I’ll drop it.” She won’t beat anyone up but letting them know what’s what isn’t off the table. “I just want to help. If you need anything……”
“Oh, thanks. It’s how my mom used to make it.” Nora smiled in response to that. “No, not at all. I needed to wake up instead of laying in bed.” She didn’t want Rowan to feel bad about it so she lied.
“Productivity, Rowan, productivity. If I had stayed in bed for even just a few more minutes I wouldn’t have gotten up at all.” She grabbed another cookie and choked down on it.
Rowan laughed. "Good point. I would have had to drag you out of bed like I did a few days ago." She sighed and watched Nora eat her cookie. She really needed to take a shower but she didn't want this moment to end, or to leave Nora right now. "I'm seriously considering skipping my shower."
"That is something that I'll never forgive you for," Nora laughed and shook her head. She had been a zombie for that entire day and had been in one hell of a grumpy mood. "Why? We could shower together." She grinned and waggled her eyebrows in a suggestive manor.
Nora grinned even more at Rowan's reaction. "It would definitely solve the problem." There was no way she was going to joke about that. "Yeah, I was serious."
Nora stood up and reentered the kitchen to put up the cookies. No one needed to know that they got into them. "Come on, let's go. We only have a couple of minutes of freedom left."
Nora entered the bathroom and was completely fine with this arrangement. She pulled off her clothes without hesitation and draped them on a peg. The various scars on her body never bother her, she was much too confident for that. Besides, she was proud of how in shape and toned her body was.
