She rubbed at Kayla's back, trying her best to comfort her.

Kayla suddenly spotted a figure at the back of the auditorium. "Hey, I'll be back," She said to Megan as she walked towards the back.

"OKay" she hummed, letting her go and watching her figure travel to the back of the auditorium.

Kayla perked up when she saw who it was. "Hey Drew," She said, looking around for Calvin. Then she put everything together. andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s very tear stained face, eyes welled with tears and fidgeting hands. Alexia was in a pray and she was sleeping with a sleeping Kelpie on her lap. "Where's Cal?"

Megan's attention slipped from the teacher to Kayla. She hoped she was doing alright, with everything that was happening and all.

"Cal's dead, Kay," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) said.
"What? But you said he was fine."
"He was. He went into cardiac arrest ten minutes after they said he was OK. They couldn't save him."

She watched them converse, not being able to read lips. The teacher began to speak about how they should get to warming up now, that we'd be going over a few new steps.

Tears swelled and threatened to fall. Kayla let them as andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) pulled her into a hug. She felt a few tears fall on the top layer of her hair.

She placed a shoe over her feet, her back already being turned and begun her warm up.

Kayla pulled away from her brother and wiped away tears. She looked at Alexia. "Are you and Grace going to be Alexia's guardians?"

The music was soon turned on, and all of her thoughts were tuned out by it, her feet moving with the music.

"We will be," andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) replied. Connor ran up, sad but not as upset as andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) and Kayla.

She streched some more, her feet framing the positions with perfection

"Kayla, we need you. You're in most of the songs and Mrs Mills wants to do your duet with Megan first," Connor said. Kayla put on her brave face.

Megan looked over at the sound of her name, walking over

Alexia then woke up. Kayla knelt down and kissed Alexia on the forehead, running her thumb over the child's small cut on her cheek. She then ran a hand over Kelpie's smooth fur and stood up.

Megan soon snapped out of her daze when she heard the crack of someone breaking in their pointe shoes. Her focus spun for a second before landing on Kayla, seeing her clearly in distress. She hopped off the stage and walked over.

Kayla pulled andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) into a hug. Hugging was all she felt like doing.

She stopped in her tracks, wanting to help her but not knowing how.

She broke away. "I better go," Kayla said. "I'll stay at your house tonight."

She watched her turn around, their eyes connecting in an instant, "You aren't ok, are you" she asked, already knoing the answer.

"No, I'm not," Kayla replied. "But I have a job to do."

"You need to breath" she muttered, grabbing her hand and dragging her outside the theatre.

Kayla pulled her hand away. "I don't need help. I just need to focus on something."
