She quickly shook her head. "I don't think that would work so well…"
Who wants a romance o/o? (OPEN)
"Oh? I-it was just an idea, you're not obligated to do anything."
"It's just… Nothing. Nevermind. Uh, sorry." Dammit, Laura.
Nicky turned so that he was sitting facing her, leaning one shoulder against the back of the bench. "You can…talk to me, y'know."
She looked over at him. "Uh, okay…" Her hair fell across her face and cast faint shadows on her nose.
"So what is it? That's bugging you, I mean."
She shrugged, trying to act like it was no big deal. "I tried it before. Didn't turn out so well."
"What…happened?"
"Nothing. It doesn't matter," she replied, looking away from him again.
Nicky sighed, tugging a hand through his hair. "Alright then…"
DAMMIT Laura! You made him uncomfortable. "Sorry," she muttered.
"For what?" He was confused now, looking up at her with an eyebrow raised.
She looked over at him and was a bit shocked when she saw he was looking over at her. "Y-You're not upset or anything? I don't know…"
"Why would I…no I'm not upset. I mean it would be nice if you'd, y'know, tell me what's bugging you, but we did just meet, so…"
She coughed quietly. "Yeah…"
He crossed his legs, resting his elbows on his knees as he leaned forward. "Tell me about yourself then."
"What about you?" she asked, trying to get the subject off of her.
"Street smarts." He mumbled almost illegibly. "Uh, my name is Nicky, I live with my older brother, I'm very good at saving pretty girls from runaway frisbees, and I'm an avid poetry fan because I can't write for shit."
She laughed quietly. "Well, that's quite the resume. How about telling me something I don't know about you – that's how people get to know each other, right?"
*You are correct about that." He grinned. "Um, I grew up in a family of musicians?"
"I love music…" she murmured under her breath. Music had gotten her out of some of the most difficult spots in her life.
"Who's your favorite artist?"
"Panic! At The Disco," she answered quickly. Dammit, Laura, you're too emo…
"Oh, they're good! I really like their song High Hopes. Currently though, I'm on a Barbie movie soundtrack kick." The last part was said completely serious.
She laughed a little, then looked at his face. "Oh, you're… serious?"
"Yup. Watching Barbie movies is a…guilty pleasure of mine. They're just so bad!"
((I'm not even kidding, it's something I do. I'm watching Barbie:The Pearl Princess rn
(Oh my gosh… XD)
"Oh," she smiled a little.
"You can laugh all you want, but the music isn't horrible. My favorite would have to be Starlight Adventure. It has the best music, and outfits." Nicky grinned, happy to have made her smile.
She laughed. "I've never met anyone like you before, Nicky."
"I hope that's a good thing?"
