"Why Don't We." Marlee looked up and noticed they almost walked by the Cafe. "Wow, time really flew by."
Kyle nodded, "I guess it does when you're learning new things."
"That's true. Well come on in, I'll show you around." Marlee said, motioning for Kyle to follow her.
Kyle nodded and did as told, entering he small shop after her, "Nice place."
"Thanks, Mom's really proud of it." Marlee said, looking for her mom. "And over there is my mom, looks like she made fresh cupcakes, I'll go steal a few. I'll be right back." Marlee walked over and grabbed a few cupcakes after giving her mother a hug.
Kyle looked away at the hug, not being able to stomach a mother-daughter interaction that was so calm and loving compared to the ones he received. He sighed through his nose.
Marlee walked over and offered a cupcake to Kyle. "They're red velvet."
Kyle nodded, taking the cake hesitantly, "What does it taste like?"
"Basically chocolate, it's just red." Marlee smiled.
"Oh, okay," Kyle was still a little hesitant but took a bite, "Not bad."
"Oh good, I'm so glad you like it!" Marlee finished her cupcake and waited for Kyle to finish.
Kyle finished eating shortly after, "Maybe I should come here more often."
"That be awesome, I work Mondays and Fridays." Marlee smiled.
Kyle nodded, "Okay, cool. I'll remember that."
Marlee smiled. "Awesome."
"How long has your mum owned this place?"
"I think 6 or 7 years. Pretty much ever since we moved here. My dad and her decided to open it together but then dad died. Mom didn't wanna close up this place though." Marlee replied.
"I'm sorry, about your dad." Kyle rubbed at his neck.
"It's okay, he's in a better place now. He was suffering here." Marlee smiled, trying to forget.
"Well… do you wanna go for a walk to the park or something?" He asked.
