He sank back down with a groan. “I need to get back to August and the others. I was hoping I could ride it.” He glanced at the creature. Then his brow’s furrowed. “But then again, you teleported me here. I don’t have a frame of reference for where we are. Thanks, by the way. Who knew your powers could actually feel good?”

He actually laughed at being called a big wuss. Then it turned into a cough. He managed, “Ah, sorry, I meant that you teleported me to the experimenters’ headquarters. But true, I didn’t know how exactly we got here, to the cave. At least I know it’s possible to ride…” he paused. “Um, what pronouns does the creature prefer?”
The beast yawned. I don’t know. I think I’m a she. Or it. I’m… something. Only, I’m not familiar to myself. Strange.

The creature turned her head, peering into the rain. She blinked a few times, and sang a few notes. Then she rose, swishing her tail in farewell and leaving the cave.
“So…” Malachi stared after her. “She’s gonna hunt for food.”

"Yeah, she is." she sat down against the wall, leaning against it and letting out an empty sigh. she didnt have much to talk about with him and she didnt really want to talk, but she hated the silence.
she waited for him to speak up or say something.
“But how is she going to do that exactly? I mean, she’s got a tiger’s body, but she doesn’t have tiger’s jaws, which is essential for killing prey.” He unfurled his hand from his chin, his eyebrows knitting together in fascination and confusion.
