Darren chuckles a bit under his breath.
"You know, the best way to trick people is to become their friend; to make them like you. Now, I'm not saying I'm tricking you, but not everyone is who or what they act like." He picks a rose and starts to tear the petals off one by one.
"You're not so bad yourself. Much more interesting than the other goodie-goodies who have come here telling me to shut down. Though I have no clue what you're doing gallivanting around with someone like Molly."

Claire’s glance darted around and then she pointed to her chest. “You…. you’re talking to me??” Her voice was soft, but also a bit confused. However, there was no one else really close enough for him to be talking to.

"App, her real name is super long so that's her nickname." Fiona smiled lightly and grabbed a flower, not picking it, just holding it in her hands.

"Um…" She had to think for a little bit. Claire nodded but didn't say anything else to him. Why did it seem like all of the sudden that people wanted to talk to her? Molly, and now this guy?? She wasn't sure what was really going on behind her back….

Clovis looks down into the water.
"I'm sorry about what my friend said. She's just… Grumpy." he runs a few fingers across the surface of the water.

She watched the water ripple from the guy's hands, but wasn't sure what he was talking about. Claire shrugged, inching away a little. Troop? Darren??? She was getting a bit more confused the more she thought about it. At least he took Molly's blow for being… A tad salty….

Clovis sighs quietly to himself. He looks back up to Claire.
"Darren is the man running this place. Did he bring you here?"
He speaks gently, sensing her obliviousness and confusion.

Darren looks over his city.
"Ah, well… We distribute rations once a week. Water is given once a week. Blah blah, really boring. Nobody tries to escape because they know the world is worse outside."
He glances over at Fiona.
"Is it still terrible out there?"

Fiona shrugged "For the most part, I mean, we get whatever food we hunt and as much water as we can find, so In some ways it's better than here."

Clovis nods slightly. He looks back down to the water, the greenish lilies under the blue shade reminding him of a distant someone.
"We recently arrived. We didn't know Darren had hold of this city and we hadn't had food for a while." he squints up at the courtyard wall, "Its still pretty bad out there."

"Well…. T-That's not… Very good…." Claire couldn't think of anything else to say. She barely knew or thought she never even met Darren face-to-face, but had a feeling she should've come across him at some point.
She reached up and began fingering with her wispy strands of hair by her ear.

Darren nods.
"She was probably trampled by- not elephants but- angry, hungry and dying humans. I guess only the ones willing to fight will live."his sarcastic tone suggests he's joking, but his countenance stays serious. He lets go of the rose he was holding and watches its blue figure fall down, down, down to the ground.
"I try to make sure I know my team mates well, I suggest you do the same."
