Quinn shook his head. "It's fine." He said softly. "Just next time, please don't destroy it." He told her.
A Random Rp?
Cassie nodded. "I didn't mean to," she whispered, pacing faster to fight the panic.
"Charlotte, it's fine. Calm down." Quinn said, looking at her.
She shook her head. "I can't. I can't calm down because everything is wrong and nothing is right and I can't control any of it and I can't handle that."
He frowned slightly. "What do you mean?" He asked softly. "I…"
Charlotte paused pacing for a second before quickly resuming. "At home, I knew how everything was going to work. Everything was how it was supposed to be, and castles didn't disappear and cats didn't talk and rabbits were never late for anything. And if I wanted something to move, I'd move it. It wouldn't just… walk away on it's own. And I can't handle the fact that nothing is how it's meant to be," she cried desperately.
Quinn hesitantly put a hand on her shoulder. "I…don't know anything about disappearing castles, that's a new one. But…I know you've heard this a billion times, but…this is Wonderland. It doesn't work by the same rules as your world."
"That's the problem! Everything is different, and it's not supposed to be different and my brain can't process that, so I push it to the back of my mind, but every time I try to relax, these things happen, and they're not supposed to happen, and they shouldn't ever happen, and - " she broke off, near hyperventilating.
Quinn sighed. "I'm sorry, Charlotte. I'm trying to find you a way home." He said softly.
(Going to go to bed early tonight, won't be on for a while)
Charlotte nodded, leaning against the railing on the staircase with her head on her hands and trying not to cry any more. She quietly growled in frustration. "I'm not supposed to be like this," she whispered to herself.
(Okie, honestly same lol)
Quinn sighed. "I know." He replied quietly.
After a few moments, Charlotte straightened up and turned to walk down the stairs, muttering quietly to herself all the while. "I'll go home. They'll all think I'm mad. But that's fine because this whole thing is mad. They'll be right." She gave a short, manic laugh and headed for the outside.
Quinn sighed softly, and watched her go. "I wasn't taught this." He muttered to himself.
Charlotte got slightly lost, but eventually ended up in the garden she'd been in earlier. Looking around, she couldn't immediately see an exit, so she picked a direction and decided to keep walking until she hit a wall.
After a while, Quinn headed downstairs, where he ran into Aster. "Aster!" He exclaimed. "I… you took Charlotte to the gardens earlier?'
Aster nodded. "I did." He replied. "I…may have pissed her off, too. I'm sorry about that."
"It's fine." Quinn waved a hand.
Charlotte ran into several trees, and she was fairly certain she'd cut her head open, so she decided to stop and lean against a tree for a while.
"Where is she now?" Aster asked.
"I don't know. She ran off." Quinn said. "Help me find her?"
Aster nodded. "Of course." They set off into the gardens to look.
After a minute or so, Charlotte stood up and continued walking. The garden seemed endless. She hummed softly, looking around and suddenly feeling much calmer.
Aster and Quinn spread out, looking for her.
Charlotte eventually found a stone wall, and immediately looked around for a tree or ladder. After a minute, she found a tree that seemed tall enough and started the tedious task of climbing it.
Aster saw her climbing into the tree, and jogged over. "Lottie?" He called, coming to the base of the tree. "What are you doing?"
Charlotte jumped onto the wall, turning to face Aster before sitting down, chin resting on a hand. "Leaving, obviously."
Aster sighed. "Leaving…into the next garden over? Because that's what's on the other side." He gave a one shouldered shrug, and climbed up the tree and onto the wall, sitting next to her. "If you want to leave the castle that badly, we can talk to Quinn about it. He's a decent man when he isn't drunk or near his mother. Problem is, he's almost always one of the two." He sighed softly.
"No, thanks. I wouldn't really like to talk to anyone at the moment," Charlotte responded, hopping over the side and continuing walking.
Aster jumped over, following her. "Okay. I'll be quiet, then." He replied, walking near her with his hands tucked in his pockets.
"Why are you still here?" Charlotte snapped, seeing another wall ahead.
"Because it's my job to stay with you." Aster replied. "Also because you obviously aren't from here, and that could attract unwanted attention."
"Your attention is unwanted enough," she muttered, starting to climb.
He followed her. "Yes, but I'm not trying to drug you, am I." He replied.
Charlotte hopped over the wall. "It's not as though I can answer that. For all I know, I could be drugged just by standing too close to you. Maybe your aura is made of drugs. Maybe you breathe drugs like a dragon breathes fire. Who knows? Certainly not me."
