A Safe Place (A few more male characters would be nice)

Tara looked away from Josh. "Masks……" She felt like her chest was being squeezed. "Make me anxious."

"oh… sorry i'll leave." he hops down and walks out

"Why not jus take the mask off?" Ellen asked, munching on her chocolate.

Paige put a hand on Tara's arm. She smiled, sort of encouragingly, but she didn't really know what else to do. She hoped that Tara appreciated the gesture.

"i'd rather not scar anyone here."

Tara gave Paige a small smile.

"Oooookaaay." Ellen hopped onto a stool.

"Where is everyone from?" Paige asked, pushing herself up to sit beside Tara.

Josh just stood around the corner so he could still listen "California…"

"Middle of nowhere Iowa." Ellen said, finishing her chocolate.

"Bel Air, Maryland," Paige said quietly.

Josh chuckled "Is there a fresh prince over there?"

Ellen snorted. "Anyone know the Carlton?"

Paige tilted her head and arched an eyebrow. "Fresh Prince?"

Tara snickered. "It's a TV show Paige." She explained. "I'm from Ocean Way, California."

Paige blushed and lowered her head, embarrassed. She took a slow bite out of her chocolate.

"Don't worry Paige." Tara said when she noticed how embarrassed Paige looked. "I didn't know about the show until two months ago."

Paige nodded, but she kept her head down and didn't speak.

After taking the bottle of water, Sucorra slowly tip-toed away from the rest.

Josh spoke after a brief moment of silence "So… why are you guys here?"

Paige took a deep breath. She wasn't ready to spill her secrets. Tara had already seen her ready to cut anyway…

"… on second thought let's not talk about that…"

Tara shrugged her shoulders. "I have depression and anxiety. Oh and self hate. Did I mention that?" She said slightly sarcastically.

Paige looked over at Tara, hesitated, then whispered something in her ear.

Tara nodded, quickly wrapping her arms around the other girl.

"…" Josh has gone silent as he peeked into the kitchen seeing what he had done he went back around the corner and sat down with his back on a wall.

Paige tensed at first but quickly accepted the gesture, coming to rest her head on Tara's shoulder.
