An invitation to a trade

D'Arcy nodded and sunk in his fangs without hesitation.

D'Arcy sucked a moment before drawing back. "Asra?"

The alpha quickly collected Asra in his arms. "Shh," he whispered. "It's alright. I know."

D'Arcy grunted and held him back. "I am too."

"Of course." He carried Asra up to his room and set him down on the bed.

D'Arcy easily sunk down and held Asra close. "You alright?" he asked quietly. "I'm never leaving you like that again."

"Just rest," D'Arcy urged.

D'Arcy kissed his forehead. "Rest," he instructed.

D'Arcy chuckled. "Try harder," he teased.

"I understand that," he sighed. "Just… focus on my breathing. Okay?"

Even once Asra fell asleep, D'Arcy stayed awake. He didn't really need it, and he vowed to protect his omega over anything else.

"Calli, they're probably aslee—"

The door burst open, and Calliope rushed in. "Asra?"

"Hailey told about your phone call, and dammit, what happened?!" the female vampire demanded.

Hailey hurried into the room after her alpha. "I'm so sorry," she mouthed. "Calli, we can't just barge into their house all the time, especially not when they're sleeping."

Both of the girls' eyes widened. "Subzero?" Hailey asked breathily, clinging tightly to Calliope. "Oh, God…"

D'Arcy gently smoothed Asra's hair and whispered gently into his ear.

D'Arcy rubbed his back and continued saying sweet little nothings. "You're going to be alright," he kept repeating.
