"Yeah." He led her down the little path and out into the open. "You led the way, and I'll follow."

Kate led him out through the front of the park, hand in hand, and they went on their way. The entire time it was like she and him had been best friends since kindergarten. As they approached the motel, Kate couldn't help but feel like everything falling. She stopped outside. "Thank you for tonight." Oh, I almost forgot. She took off his jacket and handed it back to him, feeling the warmth taken from her and the cold set into her skin. "Thanks for letting me use your jacket too.

He went and sat on a swing near the edge of the ride

(I'm not sure what these swings look like so I'm just gonna take a guess, sorry)
Ash sat in the next swing closest to Liam so they could still talk. "What's your brother's name? If he's friends with my friend, I might know him."

“His name is Cameron.” He responded

"You keep it." He gave it back to her. "Give it to me tomorrow at school." He smiled and brushed a piece of hair out of her face. She's beautiful! "When you go inside I'll leave." He wanted her inside before her left.

Kate took the jacket, smiling from the simple touch of his hand. "Okay." She stood up on her toes and gave him a small kiss on the cheek, letting go of his hand as she walked away, fingers still grasping for his warmth. She made her way to the front, waved goodbye, and made her way inside.
(I actually do have to go to bed lol night)

When Kate walked inside Xavier did a victory pose. He couldn't wait for school tomorrow. Just seeing her made him feel ten times better. He waited a few more seconds before walking home.

“His name is Cameron.” He responded

"The name sounds familiar, but I'm not entirely sure." Ash laughed, realizing that she didn't pay much attention to who her friend had left to hang out with.

He finally laughed “wanna hang out with me for the rest of the day?” He asked

Kate awoke to the sunshine, unsure if last night was a dream or reality. She checked her phone. Shoot. She was ten minutes late for school. She quickly got her stuff ready to go and left. As soon as she stepped outside she was glad she had Xavier's jacket to keep the cold out. The wind brought the Fall temperatures as golden and orange leaves blew around.

By the time vash woke up she was sure her foster father had left for work. Wrong, she thought when she heard him enter the kitchen "and uh, a good morning to you," she said sarcastically. Her sarcasm was only met by a hard slap to the face though.

Blue woke up with aches all over his body. His ribs hurt so bad. Blue didn’t even want to check the time. He gingerly got up, every movement hard and painful. He walked over to the broken mirror hanging crookedly on his wall. He had a bruise on his cheek and huge purple-green splotch on his right eye. There was no way he could go to school like that, and since his father hadn’t kicked him out yet, he didn’t like so either. Maybe he’d go at lunch time. He’d rather be skipping his first few classes then coming to school like that. He walked back to his bed and curled up.

"You know," vash started angrily "when they move you from home to home they usually try and make the next one better then the last" she rubbed her cheek even though it hurt "I'm fed up with the beatings, don't wait up for me." With that she slug her back pack over her shoulder and headed off to school. Leaving her foster father dumbfounded in the kitchen.

Blue, for a split second, felt fed up with the beatings. But that was crazy. He shook the thought away. His father provided for him, and it would only make him angrier if Blue tried to stop it.

Kate came to the front of the school. It was about thirty minutes into Mr.Harrison's class. She made her way to his classroom, knowing if she walked in late, she would be yelled at. At his door, she could hear him already yelling at some kid. Let's not. Instead if taking a left into his classroom, she went to the right to the girls' bathroom. I'll just hide here until second period. And she did exactly that.

The walk to school was honestly hard, the cold bit at the bruise forming on her cheek and she was still tired, the only reason she didn't go back to her room and just give up was because she wanted to see blue again. Even though she did have a strang urge to curl up in a near by bush.

He finally laughed “wanna hang out with me for the rest of the day?” He asked

"Yeah, I wouldn't want to leave you alone to sulk by that bench again." Ash giggled, thinking back to where she'd met him just a few minutes before.

While Blue was curled up in his bed, he thought about his time with Vash. Though it was terrifying, more so than the rollercoaster, when the Ferris wheel had stopped, he had had the best time of his life once Vash had calmed him down. He looked down to the markings on his arm and traced them with one finger, brushing lightly over the bruises. He had tried to explain to his father that he hadn’t spent money to go out and get a tattoo, but he never listened and Blue couldn’t exactly say it appeared out of no where.

Vash arrived around second period and headed straight to the office. "Hi um, Vash, Vash carter Adams. I'm new here" she slowly felt more and more awkward talking to someone she didn't exactly know. The office lady gave her a look that screamed annoyed with this child already "right another new student," she shuffled threw some papers and handded vash her schedule "hurry or you'll be late" she made a shooing motion with her hands. With that vash found her class and sat in the very back, not even bothering to pay attention.

Blue looked at the time groggily. He would need to get going if he wanted to ride the community bus. He got out of bed and changed, making sure to put on a log sleeved sweatshirt this time. He looked at the mirror. His face still didn’t look all that great. He scavenged underneath his bed and cabinet until he found a pair of sunglasses. They took the attention off on his cheek, and they made it seem like the bruise on his eye was just a shadow… from far away at least. He left the house, thankfully his father was working, and he snuck out and road the community bus to school, arriving at around lunch time. He walked into the office. The secretaries raised their eyebrows at him, “I -uh- I’m sorry I’m late. I accidentally slept in and -er- my dad couldn’t drive me so I had to wait for the, um, bus.”

“You missed nearly three hours, that calls for a detention at the end of the day.”

Blue nodded, and thankfully the secretaries let him leave. He didn’t really want to go to the last half hour of second hour, but they had given him a note and Blue didn’t know what to do while waiting for lunch to start. He made his way to second hour, opening the door to find the students staring at him and the teacher raising his eyebrows. Blue walked to the front of the room, ashamed, and gave the teacher the note before sitting in a chair at the back of the class.

When the lunch bell rang vash followed the sea of people. She laughed to herself a little and mumbled "why follow your nose when you can follow everyone else?" Her joke was dry but honestly funny to her. She flooded into the lunch room with everyone else keeping an eye out for blue hair.

Blue walked into the lunch room, keeping his head down and an arm on his aching ribs. He sat down at a vacated table in the corner. He couldn’t dare sit with his friends today, they would see his bruises and ask questions. Blue was thankful for the sweatshirt at least, and hoped the sunglasses were still providing some cover.

Xavier woke up early like usual, and went for a run. After his run he went hom to take a. shower then school. Nobody's here huh? It was normal for him to be this early, if he was ever running late it made him anxious, he hated being late. After about an hour people started flooding in and heading to class. As Xavier walked around going to his first class his eyes scanned the crowd for Kate but didn't see her anywhere. Mr. Harrison's class was first and Xavier dreaded going in there. Sitting in his usual spot he tried to pay attention the best he could.

Vash kept looking and finally spotted blue hair in the corrnor of the lunch room. She rushed over to the table ecstatic to see him again. "Blue!" She shouted happily once she reached the table.

Blue’s eyes widened, “Vash- I thought you weren’t supposed to be here yet!” Blue exclaimed putting a hand over the bruise on his cheek, but he was sure she could still see his eye. He was so happy to see her, but when she saw what his father had done- well didn’t know how she’d react, but he just didn’t want anyone to see.

As soon as the second bell rang, she made her way to second period. Unfortunately, she wouldn't see Xavier until lunch, which made the time to it seem to pass a lot slower. Finally, the lunch bell rang and she headed to the lunch room to find him. She also kept a look out for Blue, not wanting him to eat alone.

Xavier already got his lunch and was sitting with Ty and Beth. They seemed to hit it off and he was happy for him. But, where was Sam? She was always with Beth. "So, what did you and Kate do when you disappeared?" Xavier took a bite of his food, his eyes didn't stop scanning the crowd. "We just talked." Ty's eyes narrowed. "We really did okay. We only met yesterday morning, I'm not going to move that fast."

Vash stopped dead in Her tracks "what happened to your face? Did your dad do that?" She felt anger rise up in her remembering she also had a bruise on her cheek she sat down and put her hand over her cheek also. "Are you okay blue?" She asked carefully.

Blue turned red with embarrassment, “I- I’m okay, he just kicked me in the ribs really hard and-“ Blue cut himself off, looking at the ground. His ribs really hurt as he clutched his side. He sighed and took his sunglasses off, but didn’t dare meet Vash’s eyes. What would she say if he told her what his dad did to him last night? All the bruises and cuts…

Vash reached out and grabbed one of blues hands "did he do all that?" She asked her eyes searching for his.

Blue looked at Vash hopelessly. Tears rimmed his eyes as he responded, “Yeah. It- It really hurts.” To any other person, he would have lied. But he just couldn’t lie to her.

Kate got her food and began her search. After a few minutes of just standing there looking around, she still couldn't find them. Her heart sank as she made her way to an empty table and started to eat her lunch, hoping she'd catch them on the way out.
