Blue burst out laughing, and then it faded into a smile, “This is really fun. I’m glad that-“ Blue stopped talking when the waitress came with waters and to take their orders. Blue gave an apologetic look, “We’ll take two crêpes of the month.” The waitress walked off and then Blue looked at Vash, “I hope you like crepes?”
"Sounds fancy" she joked. Vash hadn't had crepes before but they sounded good.

"I'm really bad at picking things. So, I'll do anything you want." He smiled and wiped a bit of sweat from his forehead. Even if it was cold out, he ran for a while. Hopefully it wasn't to gross.
Kate laughed. "I am too. Umm…" She thought of everything to do. "Really, the main stuff to do is a few minutes away from here, next to the amusement park. We could try there?"
"I'm fine with that." He took her by the hand and headed in that direction. "We'll find something along the way." His smile was brighter than ever. It was her that made him this way.
Every time he took her hand, it was like a new sensation. "Okay." They walked the same way as they did the amusement park. Someway along the way, they made a wrong turn and ended up on a sidestreet. There was a forest to the right and a few houses to the left. "I guess we should turn back and try again."
"Or.. we could go a new path and see if we can find something in the forest." Xavier loved adventure and if Kate was by his side it would make it ten times better. "Would you like to go on a adventure with me?"
"Adventure is my middle name, my good sir," she said with a slight bow. She could feel her dimples showing. "Where shall we start?"
"That way." He pointed a random direction into the forest. "I've always wanted to see a waterfall." Xavier never shared that with anyone before. "Not that we'll actually find one. It would be cool though." Walking in the forest hand in hand with the girl he liked was magical.
They walked side by side through the forest in silence. But like the pond, it was comfortable. It was safe. Trees soon surrounded them making them lost to reality. Kate looked up to the tree tops and closed her eyes. She felt so at home in the middle of nowhere.
"I've always wanted to live in a forest away from people. I know a bit ridiculous, but I'm not going to lie." He smiled taking in the surroundings. The sun shining down into through the trees, the birds songs. It made it feel like a different world. One where they didn't have to worry about anything.
"I have too." She opens her eyes and looks at him. Mischief filled her eyes. She laughed and ran off, hiding behind a tree. She kept quiet, but she was sure that he could hear her smile.
"Hey!" He yelled as she took off. "Don't go too far, I'll lose you." He smile grew bigger. Wandering around he took his time to look for her. "Kate? I uh, have something to tell you." He couldn't find her, but he knew she could hear him. "You know what, never mind it's nothing."
"Tell me," she said from behind the tree with a laugh. "But find me first."

“They’re really good. French food is always good, right?” Blue jested. His nerves were starting to calm down the longer they were there.
"Oh French food. Then it must! Be good" she felt safe around Blue. Safe enough to joke around like a complete idiot anyway.
“I really like you, Vash,” Blue said it aloud without realizing, but continued anyways, “You’re amazing. And beautiful.”
"Tell me," she said from behind the tree with a laugh. "But find me first."
Xavier saw a foot behind a tree and smiled. Instead of walking where she was, he stood on the other side of the tree. "Found you." He voice came out soft.
Kate turned around. She bit her bottom lip and laughed. "No, you didn't!" She ran in attempt to get away.
Xavier grabbed her arm to keep her from running. "Where do you think you're going." He laughed, pulling her close. "Don't you want to hear what I have to say?"
She looked up into his eyes and laughed. "Of course." She smiled from ear to ear, dimples showing, but she didn't hide it this time.
“I really like you, Vash,” Blue said it aloud without realizing, but continued anyways, “You’re amazing. And beautiful.”
Vashes face fell. His words stung but also sent her heart flying. Love, attachment. That kinda stuff was out of the question for her. But she couldn't deine it, she liked blue back. "Blue what ever your last name may be I must say I just might think the same of you" she felt her face go very red. "And before you go spreading such wonders of lies I am not amazing. You are"
"Okay." He let go and laid his hand on her shoulders. Taking a deep. "I know we haven't known each other very long." Xavier hands began to shake, so he removed them from Kate's shoulders. "I really like you." Taking a step back he looked to the ground. "It doesn't mean I want to be your boyfriend, we can take it slow of course."
“For starters, my surname is Le’Dan,” Blue has a strange twinkle in his eyes as he just said the words that popped in his head, “For the record, I did not lie at all. You are the most beautiful and amazing girl I’ve ever seen in my entire life and,” Gosh Blue had no idea were this was coming from, but he said it anyways, “And I love you.” And like the flip of the switch, heat skyrocketed to his face and he looked away shyly.
Kate was done waiting. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. His lips were soft and warm. She stepped back taking her arms back to her waist. She looked down at the ground, blush filling every inch of her face. "Sorry, I- um. I'm." She shook her head. Idiot.
"Gosh darn it blue" vash shook almost on the verge of tears. "Gosh darn it. I love you too. But I can't. Its out of the question. I'm in the-" she stopped herself "gosh darn it I love you too." She refused to look up. Wanting if even for just a moment to be in love.
When she stepped back, he followed by stepping forward. His hand moved to her cheek and he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "You're beautiful." The sunlight hit her perfectly, lighting up her eyes and making her dimples show more. "So very beautiful." He whispered before kissing her.
Blue turned red, but took a deep breath and stood and walked in front of Vash. He tilted her head up and leaned in, kissing her as soft as a spring breeze.
She wrapped her arms around his neck again. This one wasn't so much warm, but burning. It was a flame that started in the pit of her stomach and made it way throughout her body. She leaned back for a slip second and said, "I really like you too." Then her lips were on his again and all was right in the world.
Vash almost pulled back but she felt herself returning his kiss. His lips felt right to hers. It felt to right. And pain hit her right in the heart. Nothing physical. But emotionally. It was the pain knowing that she'd leave in less then a year. Knowing she'd be pulled away just before she is completely consumed.
The silence of the forest and the soft breeze made it that much more better. His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. Kate's lips were soft, and it made him feel like he was melting. Xavier pulled away and laid his forehead on hers. "Where are you staying tonight?"
Kate kept her eyes closed as their foreheads met. "I don't really know. To be honest, the only reason I had a place to stay last night is because every room except one was full. And my friend's dad let me know someone made a reservation for tonight. But I can stay at the twenty-four hour library, no problem."
