Aria looked around the abandoned city warily, her gun held tightly in her hands in case someone decided to mess with her. She tried to calm her beating heart as she told herself that he was gone for now, her hands trembling slightly anyways. She stepped over part of a fallen lamp post as she glanced at a broken window of a building. "He's gone, You're safe Aria, you're safe.." she mumbled to herself, walking over to the building and checking for any others that might be there.
Cicada was wandering the city grinning wildly. Fire and burned away at the buildings, and she had found the sight exhilarating. Humans hadn't enjoyed the fire, not like they had much of a choice anyway. She spotted some mortal girl and her grin only good. This day just kept getting better and better.
Nik huddled her brother's dead body close to her chest, tears streaming down her face. She had given up on the screams for help by now, no one is alive anymore she thought. She was decided whether or not now to just shoot herself until she heard footsteps outside of the building. She froze as fear climbed through her veins, her whole body beginning to shake.
"Hello?" Aria said softly, sensing that she wasn't alone. "Who are you?" her voice trembled and she exhaled shakily, pulling the gun up to her chest "I have a gun.."
"Go away" she muttered, scared out of her mind. She ran her hand through her brother's hair, his head still warm.
She jumped slightly, scared that someone actually answered her. "You human?" She asked, turning her head to see where the voice came from.
"100%" she replied, tears still streaming down her pale, soot-covered face. She hadn't expected someone to still be alive.
"Cool," Aria replied, "Um…where are you? I promise I won't shoot..I'm just curious.." She turned to the building again and and flicked the safety on her gun to safe. "I promise."
She lit the lighter she had in her hand, "Can you see this?" she asked, her voice dripping in grief. She kissed her brothers forehead, keeping the lighter up at eyes view.
She nodded, looking at the faint flicker of light coming from the building "Y-yeah, can I come in the building? You're not tricking me?"
"I'm holding my dead brother's body in my arms, do you think I'm tricking you?" she asked, more tears streaming down her dirtied cheeks.
"You never know, people can easily lie.." Aria stepped towards the building, not noticing that there was someone else nearby. She knocked on the doorframe and looked around inside, not seeing anyone right away. "You're in here?"
"Yes, just follow the light" she replied, trying to light the lighter once again and succeeding.
She nodded and stepped into the building, keeping her eyes trained on the flickering light. "Are there any weapons by you?" She asked, stopping a few feet away from the girl.
"Yes, but it's only an empty gun and a bow and arrows. I couldn't get the bow out of my brother's hand right now" she replied.
"Ok," she said, stepping closer to the light "I'm going to keep my gun in my hand just in case, don't make me use it." She continued towards the light and finally saw the girl, holding her brother's body.
"You look rough" she muttered, tears staining her cheeks. She brushed a piece of hair out of her face and looked up at the girl again, studying her figure and stance.
"You don't look much better," Aria replied, looking down at the girl and deciding that she wasn't a threat right now.
"Shut up" she shot back. She picked up her brother's body so she could get up, placing it down again when she had.
