"If I could afford it, I definitely would," Blaine said, nodding slowly. Who wouldn't want to live there, with its bright flowers, the blue river, the sparkling bridge they stood on.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Maybe one day soon.” He said quietly, looking over at the houses then to the river.

"Maybe. We can dream and hope," Blaine agreed softly, sighing and resting her head against him.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion smiled softly, “You know… maybe one day… i-if we’re still together we could buy a house together… i-if you want that is…”

Blaine looked up at him with a soft smile.

"Yeah. I'd like that," she said quietly.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion smiled back and placed a hand on her cheek, “I love you.”

"I– I love you, too," Blaine breathed, her smile faltering.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“What’s wrong?” Andion asked, his happiness turning into worry.

"It's nothing," Blaine bluffed, shaking her head. She smiled up at him. "Everything's perfect."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion’s frown deepened and he stepped backwards, “You’re still a terrible liar, Blaine.”

Blaine blinked once, biting her lip as she looked down. She shook her head again and looked up.

"You just caught me unawares, is all. I… wasn't expecting you to say that," she explained. That was true, he had, but that wasn't the whole reason for her hesitation.

She just felt like everyone she loved left her. Her father when she was young, her mother soon after that. When her grandparents – who had practically raised her since she was born, and then had raised her when her mom left – passed away, she didn't have anyone left.

(I'm sorry if this seems lik an over-dramatic background, but it's canonically her history.)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Don’t worry, overdramatic backgrounds are welcomed :)

A muscle in Andion’s jaw flexed and he swallowed, “Is that all?” He asked quietly, averting his gaze from her to the river, sighing, “Sorry, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

Blaine winced at the look on his face. It wasn't that she didn't want to tell him, but… How was she supposed to go about telling him that everyone she'd loved in the past was no longer a part of her life.

"No. That's not all," she admitted in a whisper, turning to face the river and twisting her hands tightly.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion looked back to her and took a small step to be by her side again, gently grabbing her hand.

"Then what?" He asked gently.

"Um, well… It's just that, uh," Blaine stuttered, then coughed a bit. When she continued, she spoke slowly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Everyone that I've ever loved… They're not here. I don't see them anymore. They're gone…"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion's face softened, "Oh… Blaine I'm so sorry. I wouldn't… couldn't leave you. Please, believe me Blaine…"

Blaine shut her eyes for a moment, working to control her breathing. She needed to get ahold of herself. An assassin shouldn't act this way.

Glancing up, she gave Andion a small, almost forced smile, then reached up to press a soft kiss to his cheek. She whispered a quiet, "Thank you" into his ear before pulling back.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Hey, don't thank me. You have nothing to thank me for." He said back, placing a hand on her cheek, rubbing his thumb gently over it.

"You have no idea how much I have to thank you for," Blaine murmured, leaning into his hand.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion chuckled, "Let's leave that up to mystery then." He gently removed his hand from her face and softly grabbed her hand, starting to walk back the way they came.

Blaine silently sighed as they walked back. Gosh, he had no idea how much his words had meant to her. She couldn't help grinning, biting her lip as she did so.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion looked over at and saw her smiling but he didn't mention anything about it as they walked.

The quiet felt comfortable, to Blaine at least. It wasn't like it was a forced silence, where they simply had nothing to say to each other, but more like there were things they could say but didn't need to.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion let the peace and quiet wash over him, the sun had started to set and he hadn't realised how ling himself and Blaine had been out. The city lanterns had began to give their usual glow and it made everything more… peaceful.

"It got late," Blaine murmured, breaking the silence. She glanced around at the darkening streets and glowing lights, wondering just how long they had been out.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion hummed in agreement, "Yes, it did."

Before he could say anything else, a small street band struck up a slow, relaxing song and couples began to dance around them. He turned to Blaine and with a smile, asked, "Care to dance with me?"

Blaine laughed a bit.

"Sure. I'd love to," she said, smiling up at him.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Andion placed his hands on Blaine’s waist as he gently swayed them to the slow music, smiling down at the other.

Blaine reached up to put her arms around Andion's neck, returning his smile with one of her own. After a moment, she stepped closer to him and rested her head on his chest.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Why can’t it always be like this? Peaceful and relaxing, with you and nothing else to worry about.” Andion wondered aloud.
