“What are you doing?” Adrielle asked, standing behind the girl. “Are you spying?”

Nat whipped around and instinctively threw a punch at the girl's gut without answering her question.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Adrielle caught her fist, though stumbled back slightly. She smirked. “So the little girl is spying and doesn’t want me to know, huh?”

Nat narrowed her eyes and pulled her fist back. "Watch it," she said sharply.

@PrettyLittlePyro

“Or what?” Adrielle taunted.

"You want to find out?" Nat growled. She stood in trained fighting stance – Natasha Romanov fighting stance.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Adrielle rolled her eyes. “And I suppose you are an avenger child too.”

"Not exactly," she replied, lifting her chin proudly.

@PrettyLittlePyro

“X-men?”

"No," Nat replied, taking the time to size up the other girl.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Adrielle smirked slightly, leaning against the tree. “Who then? Villain or hero?”

"Neutral," she answered evenly. "But a supporter of the Avengers."

@PrettyLittlePyro

“Course,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Like everyone else in the world.” She scowled.

Nat tensed. "There a problem with that?"

@PrettyLittlePyro

“Yes,” she said. “It makes the Avengers arrogant and overconfident, and it makes the people weak sand reliant on them.”

Adrik nodded in agreement with Adriel’s, but he stayed silent for now. No use getting in a fight he could avoid, especially since he’d already had one too many fights this week

"It's always enlightening to see other opinions about our dear Avengers, especially because Steven blocks so much negative press from me. I understand it's for my protection, but I do like to see what others think," Artemis said, looking genuinely interested. "What do you think we could change about our organization?" A small notebook and pen flew out from under her cloak, poised to begin taking notes.

Eliza looked very confused and was silent as she watches, backing away slightly.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Adrielle blinked at her. “Well, for one thing, maybe we could get rid of the Avengers so that the citizens don’t rely on them for everything.”

Natasha's phone went off, laying in the leaves beside her foot. She quickly bent down and picked it up so she could study the screen. Mom.

Artemis's notebook and pen dutifully scribbled down the comments. "An interesting suggestion…" she muttered. "Oh! Would you mind telling me what time it is, Miss..?" she said, addressing Natasha.

Nat didn't give her name, but she checked the time. "Twelve twenty four."

@PrettyLittlePyro

Adrielle blew her hair from her face and smirked. “Too scared to give your name? Or maybe even cautious? It’s not like we’ll do anything with the information.”

"How can I trust you to keep your word?" Nat replied a bit sharply. "I just met you."

@PrettyLittlePyro

“Very true,” Adrielle said with a dark smile.

"Thank you ever so much," Artemis said, taking out her pocketwatch and turning its dial to match the right time. "I think I finally know why it refused to spell!" She sat cross-legged on the forest floor and stared at the watch, muttering under her breath. When the watch began to spit out orange sparks, she grinned. "Wonderful!"

Nat backed away from both Adrielle and Artemis. Her mother needed her. She had to figure a way out of here.

"You look rather distressed. Is something wrong?" Artemis asked politely.

"Not at all. I just have to go," Natasha replied slowly.

Artemis hopped to her feet. "If this is Avengers or SHIELD business, I may be of some use."
