Kiera stepped back, unintentionally phasing backward through the wall. As she was not expecting this, she fell backward and landed on the doorstep hitting her head. She winced and tried to stand.

When Sam finished, they slipped the paper into their pocket. "Alright. Can you guys freshen up for a bit- all of you- while I head to the market and get some food?"

They heard a thud behind them and turned around. "Kiera! Where did you go!" Sam yelled. "Are you okay?"

Sam came outside, holding a wallet. They turned around to see Kiera on the steps, nearly tripping over her. "hOLY SH*T, Kiera! There you are!" Then they noticed Kiera's head in her hands. Sam sat down with her. "Hey, you okay?" they asked softly.

Connor strolled back onto campus in a pair of grey sweats with black and white trim, black, grey, and white shoes, a grey tee, and a denim jacket with sleeves, and a hood, that were woolen and grey. He'd gotten into a fistfight at the pub last night, with a few guys, and almost didn't take care of it.
"Damn." He said. "Morning again."

Kiera stood shakily. "This is why I take Ability Control. When Jessica yelled at me, I was so shocked I accidentally phased through the wall and fell on the steps. I hit my head but I should be okay." She rubs her head a bit to find blood on her hands. "Or… maybe not."

Kiera looks up at Jessica. "I'm so sorry Jess. I'm a terrible friend. And to be quite rough with it, your life sucks."

Kiera's eyes well up with tears. She is always tough and it's hard holding up a reputation. She's never cried in front of anyone. "I'm falling apart." she thought.

Kiera jumps back to the campus and is shocked when she almost bumps right into Connor. "OH! Connor, sorry."

"Don't sweat it!" Connor said, as Gnaw loped up to him, and took his place at his side, he only had two eyes right now. It was almost easy to believe that he might be a normal pet.

Kiera caught her balance and stepped off the light traveler. She dusted off her clothes and made an attempt to stand tall, despite her hurting head. "I apologize for the way I acted yesterday. It was stupid of me." Kiera catches sight of the sun rising in the sky. "Oh goodness, dawn already? THE DUALS! OH NO! WHAT AM I GONNA DO?!?"

"It's fine." Connor says. "And y'know, you could always just call it off!"

Kiera sighs. "Connor you don't understand. My reputation is insane. Word has probably spread around the school. If I surrender it would look weak. I would be ruined."

"Either way." Connor said, deadpan, and apathetically. He walked off, Gnaw trotting behind him.

Kiera decided to follow Connor. She needed a friend. "Connor wait, I know what to do. I'll fight her, take her down without hurting her and then she can surrender."

"That's what I'm trying to do." He said, "but I don't have any weapons designed for, mercy." He looks at his familiar.

Kiera nods sympathetically. "My powers are more for defense. That's why I've been training in boxing, karate and agility for basically all my life. My parents are very strict."
