Dis Drew the pocket knife hidden in his shoe. This thing seemed to be staying away for now. They were safe.
Bizarre Island RP.
Charlotte didn't know what happened. One thing she was sure of was that she didn't do it, no matter how much she'd like to do so. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Arie look at her hands, but she paid it no attention.
"That…" she breathed, her voice shaking. "What was that…?"
As the group does a headcount, none of them can see Carro. As they get increasingly worried, a faint word is heard. "Here!" The group looks up, bit of plaster raining down on them. Carro is hanging upside down from the ceiling, claws digging in to the white coating. His tail is dangling, and his eyes are wide. "I'm okay!" He says, calling down to the group.
Charlotte released a breath she didn't realize she was holding. When she couldn't find Carro, she grew extremely scared. But when she heard the familiar 'I'm okay!' she felt like she could relax a little.
"So we're all safe…" she whispered, relief seeping from her voice. Her heart was beating rapidly, but Charlotte realized it wasn't because she was scared. Her heartbeat was always fast. Then a wave of dizziness fell over here and immediately sat down, hoping no one saw her moment of weakness.
Anemia… that's right…
Carro called down hesitantly again, "Guys? I think I'm stuck."
"Guys? I think I'm stuck."
For a second, everyone just stayed silent. Then slowly, starting from Charlotte, they all began to laugh and Charlotte could feel the tension seep away.
"You're a cat, Carro," Charlotte said, still laughing a little. "Jump down; you'll land on your feet. Hopefully."
"It's the 'Hopefully' I'm worried about!! Would now become a good time to declare that I freeze when scared?" He laughs nervously, eyeing the ground.
"It's okay, Carro," Charlotte said softly. "Don't think about getting hurt. You can do this. It's going to be okay."
Carro's, "I am not coming down until the dog stops threatening cats!!"
(Where'd @Victoria's post go?)
"Rain won't hurt you," said Charlotte as calmly as she could. "It's okay. I'm sure Fawn has a good hold on her. Besides, you're a human as well. I doubt Rain would attack you."
Dis went, and looked out the window. The mantis-thing was still by the door, sniffing at it.
"Alright guys." He said. "Let's get this place locked down."
He pushed the lounge couch in front of the door, with a stand over it, for leverage. Where were the servants to lock the doors?
-Fawn held back Rain as much as she could. There were now three cats in the same room… great.
Rain: 'Let me at them!'
"No!" Fawn said back before pausing… 'wait, did I just'…
Rain: 'Why not! Those snotty cats n- Wait…
-Fawn and Rain both blankly stared at each other-
Rain: H-how did you…. did you hear me?
"I..I guess I did…." -A smile comes over Fawns face.-
“It’s getting late,” Charlotte observed. “We should get some rest to preserve our energy, in case more of them come by. I think two people should share a room, just in case. It would be safer.”
She looked at Carro once again, who still wasn’t coming down.
“Carro, come now,” she said. “See? Fawn has complete control over Rain. Rain’s a good dog; she won’t bite.”
"You guys go ahead, there are other doors that need barricading, and I'm in the mood to investigate." Dis said, as he walked off.
"Good dogs don't threaten innocent cats!!" Carro's eyes are fixed on Rain, and if anything his claws dig tighter into the ceiling. A fine rain of plaster drifts onto the group.
-Fawn throws a mean gaze at Carro- "Are you implying something about my perfect dog because if you are, I wouldn't hesitate to let go of her and let her attack." Fawn says angrily.
"Your dog wants to hurt me, and you are encouraging it!" Carro's eyes are blown wide, his tail is proofed and his ears are pinned back. Hyperventilating, he stares at the rest of the group, quickly becoming light headed. A thought swims to the surface of his brain. …..huh…guess I get panic attacks……. A moment later he starts laughing to himself at the absurdity of he situation.
Charlotte panicked at what Dis said.
“Wait!” She exclaimed, grabbing a hold of his sleeve. “What if more come? You can’t hold them off on your own. You’d get hurt!” Then she got an idea.
“Carro, come down and go with Dis. You have cat ears; they might help in case the monsters come again. He could hear them before hand.”
Just as she said that, Carro commented on Rain being a bad dog, angering Fawn. She glared angrily at Carro and threatened to let Rain hurt him.
The whole ordeal caused Charlotte to have a headache again. This time, not because of the voices or her anemia.
“Guys, stop,” she sighed, exasperated. “We don't have time to quarrel amongst ourselves. Fawn, he didn’t mean to insult Rain. He’s part cat; of course he’ll be afraid of Rain. But he isn’t insulting her.”
But to her surprise, Carro begins to laugh.
They… might be the weirdest people I’ve ever met in my life…
-Fawn takes a deep breath- "Fine, Just come down, Rain won't hurt you unless I tell her to, which I haven't." Fawn said, letting go of her dog. Rain sat down calmly. "See?"
'Good job Rain.' Fawn thought
Rain: 'Sorry for trying to eat the cat before…' Rain said, seeming to have snapped back to her regular self.
'I don't blame you judging on what they said about you. You're forgiven of course. Just try to get used to the cats, there are three of them now after all." Fawn thinks,
Carro drops from the ceiling carefully, and makes it three steps before stumbling into a couch, still laughing now and again.
"See, was it that hard?" Fawn said, smiling.
"No," Carro murmures
"Either way." Dis says, taking the stand on the door, and breaking one of the legs off, resulting in a jagged point. He went to the check-out table, and stole the tape off the table, and taped his knife to the makeshift weapon, making it even more deadly.
"Exactly. Also, Rain and I apologize for our behavior." Fawn says to Carro, waiting for an apology on how he talked about Rain.
Charlotte sighed in relief.
“Good job, Carro…” she murmurs in exhaustion, but she doubted he could hear her since she said it so quietly. “So will you go with Dis, Carro? To barricade the doors? It’s dangerous for him to go alone. You would help a lot if you went along with him.” She looked at Dis, who was making a make-shift weapon for himself.
"Yeah, but no guarentees that I won't end up on a ceiling again!" Carro jokes, making his war towards Dis.
“You’re brave, you won’t end up on the ceiling,” Charlotte said, running a finger through her hair. “Just keep in mind that if you do so, you might get eaten by a demon. So do your best!” she joked back, smiling.
"If you get stuck I'll get you down." Dis quips, heading off.
"Or I'm sure Rain will help you get down." Fawn jokes, trying to make sure he doesn't get stuck on the ceiling again.
“Be careful!” Charlotte calls as both of them walk away.
Then she addresses everyone else.
“When they come back, we’ll decide the sleeping arrangements.”
