He shook his head and kept eating. He kept his eyes trained in front of him.

"Ah yes," Zanna said, "That's why."
"Do you talk?" Darren pushed. He heard the iciness in his voice but didn't seem to care.
"That's why we're all actually eating together." Paige pointed out, gesturing to the group sitting at the table.
He swallowed his bite. "Y-yes." He stuttered. He kept his eyes away from the boy.
"Sweet" Darren seemed to be at a loss for words until he found his way again. "You never answered my question, why are you here?"
"Yep," Zanna slightly laughed.
Paige sighed. "I kind of hope that the food was drugged. That way I can miss class for the rest of the day."
Zanna got up and grabbed a sandwich, "Please be drugged please be drugged."
Paige let out a small laugh. "Maybe we can skip. It probably wouldn't be the best thing to do here, but if I hear someone talk about how 'disrespectful' and 'horrid' I am I'll punch them."
"Honestly same," Zanna nodded. She took a bite, "Damn it not drugged."
He bit his lip. "I-I…f-framed." He struggled to make sentences. He wasn't great talking to people, especially guys.
"You were framed?" Darren tried his best to be charming though the boy was seriously lowering his inhibitions.
"Try whatever drink was drugged last time. If it was drugged then, it probably is now." Paige explained.
He chewed on his lip and nodded. He clasped his hands in his lap and tried his hardest not to cry. Tried, is the key word. A few tears slipped down his cheeks.
"Nah," Zanna finished the sandwich, "I'm not that desperate."
Darren noticed the tears. "Hey man, I didn't mean to upset you. We can, ummm, talk about something else if you want." Darren looked at Jacob his forest green eyes glowing in the low lighting of the shadowy library.
Paige shrugged. "Alright." She yawned, lying her head down on the table.
He quickly wiped them away and shrugged. He packed up hid half eaten lunch and brought his knees to his chest.
"You remind me of my brother" Darren added trying to lighten up the conversation. "Do you have family back home?"
"You sure you weren't drugged?" Zanna asked Paige.
He nodded. He leaned back against the wall, cradling himself.
"I might have been, I don't know. I've been tired all day."
(I have to go soon so I might disappear)
"Maybe you got drugged at breakfast and it's taking a while to kick in?" Zanna suggested.
(Got it.)
"My brother was the smartest person I knew, apart from myself, of course, he was only 2 years older than me. He was my best friend… He said It's always good to have someone to lean on or at least talk to."
"W-was?" He turned to the boy, his eyebrows drawn in confusion.
"He-uh- Nevermind that's not my point…"
He nodded and looked down in his lap. Oh god. A guy was talking to him. What was he supposed to do? It's not like he was openly gay or anything. And even if he was….what was he supposed to do?
"My point was that I just got here and I'm-uh- tired of being lonely." He said almost like a question, as if he wasn't sure what he needed at the moment.
He nodded. He held out his hand. "J-Jacob."
