"Good choice." Her lips quirked up in a half smile. "Mine depends on the day. It's usually something with chocolate though."

"It's exceptionally good. Great pick me up, too." Kai chuckled as they pulled into the parking lot of the ice cream shop.

"Yeah," Laura said quietly. She played with a corner of her notebook.
"Well then, let's go get you some ice cream!" She turned to look at Laura, eyes alight with excitement.

Kai thought for a second before wrapping an arm around Laura's shoulders they made their way in, and she led the way to a booth in the far corner.

Laura was a bit shocked at the gesture, but she accepted it. Her trusty notebook was still clutched to her chest.
Kai slid into the booth with Laura, and a waitress signaled that she would be there in just a moment.
