“I’ll uh… do something.” Elizabeth said.
Wendi looked at the others, "I'll just stand here?"
“Sameee,” Elizabeth said, “we can stand here together.”
Kaden sighed. "Help set up camp, then get some sleep. We all need it." Not that there was much to set up. They just needed to make food and then lay back on their packs. It's not like they brought a bed with them.
“Okie dokie,” Elizabeth said.
"O-okay," Wendi rubbed her arm still not sure what to do.
Kaden set his pack down and quickly scoped out the area. He came back and sat down, pulling Elizabeth down with him.

“Hey,” She said, smiling.
He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back to his chest. He kissed her head then tucked her head under his chin.

Elizabeth smiled, enjoying the embrace.
"Are you hungry?" He asked her quietly.
“No.”
He nodded. His eyes kept watching, tracking every movement. He didn't trust where they were. He hated being to so out in the open.

Elizabeth looked around, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “It’s so unsafe here.”
He nodded. "I'll guard you with my life." He spoke quietly.
“Don’t do that,” she said. “I couldn’t live with myself if you died to protect me.”
