“Um, sure,” he said, a little hesitant. He didn’t really believe someone could just ask you to be their friend, and that would be the end of it. But he smiled and raised a hand of farewell to Wynn and Ben. “See you in 15?” He nodded to Wynn.

Alister had just finished cleaning the spear when he heard footsteps. He felt himself cringe. Please tell me it’s not-
“Ali!” A girl’s face popped into view, looking quite similar to his own. She had a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“Help me!” She said, pointing her finger at him.
“No.”
“Please?”
“No!”
“Yes! Just one, tiny blood sample?”
He gave her a look. “Just use your own!”
“No, I’m too chicken. Besides, you’re my brother, I can do whatever I want with you.”
Despite himself, he laughed. “No, you can’t. Just…”
He heard another set of footsteps and saw Wynn enter behind his sister.
“Hey, I’m going to spar with Wynn. If I get injured, I’d be glad to give up some blood for your project, does that sound good?”
She turned. “Hey, Wynn.” She turned back. “Ok, one thing, if he gets injured, can I take a blood sample from him?”
